No, I did a survey on the street. 
It's just some of the rubbish banter I've heard spewed from the mouths of 'lads' in the past, combined with my own intepretation that they saw women from some countries as bound to be submissive and less likely to be loud-mouthed argumentative cows like the Western ones they knew.
