I was surprised he died just a day after filming the last episode of Father Ted
Dermot Morgan
Apparently Dermot had trouble with the very last scene.
The director said, "Get it right this time Dermot, or you're dead!"
The irony was that he got it right.
Is that true or just a bit of black humour

An attempt at the latter (it's what Dermot would have wanted).

Actually, the irony is that the last scene was originally him joining a suicidal Tommy Tiernan on the ledge, implying he was about to jump too...
I saw the final recording. News of his death two days later was a huge shock.
I remember when it was announced that he'd died, everyone assumed it was the oldest Father they were talking about. He's probably still going now.

Frank Kelly. Always makes me laugh when you seen him interviewed and he's a really dapper looking articulate man.
I remember when he died. It was very sad. But should this be under 'Other British Comedy'?
Good point.
Moved to General!
No, it should be under Other British Comedy.

Why? Dermot Morgan wasn't British.

Good point - and not politically, no. But has he been discussed in his role outside of a British sitcom?
I thought it was more about his death.
