I think you're being too rigid, that's all.

Hulk Hogan as B.A I would be just as annoyed about it, I like things not to be messed with how historically they have been represented:)

Hulk Hogan would make a good B.A.

I get that problem too. Especially in the mornings. :$

That's nothing to do with adaptation; that's to do with a comic book that the fans of are really anal about and take as gospel. See Sheldon's arguments in The Big Bang Theory as an example of the rigidity which people insist in.

Ah yeah, I think of it chiefly as being a film!

Plus the fact that Batman is white. He's white in the comics, so he's white.

I'd quite happily see a black Batman. And bats are black.

if things were reversed and they got a white actor in to play 'Martin Luther King' in a drama for example,

I would say that's quite a bit different though, isn't it? Then having a black Friar Tuck?! Anyway, it's a silly thing to get your knickers in a twist over.

And?

Quote: chipolata @ May 14 2009, 11:31 AM BST

I'd quite happily see a black Batman.

I wouldn't be fussed, but I do see him as being white, because he has always been white.

They did it at the Lyric Theatre in 1990. It was eight hours long, over two evenings, and the single best thing I've ever seen in the theatre.

I'd love to see that too. (Did they record that?)

But I meant on a Saturday afternoon tea time slot.

I'd like to see a white Shaft as well. Let's shake things up a bit.

How rude.

Look everyone I am not a Racist so some of your comments about that racist political party were very unfair, if things were reversed and they got a white actor in to play 'Martin Luther King' in a drama for example, or heaven forbid a re-make of The A Team with I dunno, Hulk Hogan as B.A I would be just as annoyed about it, I like things not to be messed with how historically they have been represented:)

The issue there would be that there are so few roles for Black actors that it'd be a significant loss.
But on a flip side BSG has changed atleast one black role white from the original. And frankly hardly any one noticed.

N.B. didn't the US version of Steptoe and Son change from white to black.

But (in the films) he's been tall, short, muscular, thin. I belieeeve he's had different coloured hair too, so really, would it be a big deal?

Liiike, The Doctor in Doctor Who has always been white, but I wouldn't mind a black Who.

But I would mind a woman, so I guess everyone has different places they draw the line, some people at colour, some people at gender...

How rude.

That's the first time in five and a half months you've made me laugh out loud. :D

Woo!

(Have you only been here five and a half months??)

I can't really tell if this is sincere or not, but yes. :)

I've been here three or more years. :(

(I could have beaten up a hobo and served less time)
