Quote: hey_nonny @ May 13 2009, 8:54 AM BSTSorry this is nothing to do with comedy but I live in a really old house in Germany, was clearing the attic and found a box of old books. Was quite well hidden probably to save them from the 1933 Nazi book burnings.
That part is especially exciting.
You should definitely mention that when you sell them.

I bet this is how a lot of stories start in Germany even now...

Show Boat/Edna Ferber (First Edition)
Dear Enemy/Jean Webster (First Edition)
I Will Repay/Baroness Orczy (1908)
Pride and Prejudice/Jane Austen (1924)Was thinking of Ebaying them.
I love old books. I've got a German music book from the late 19th century which I don't understand a word of.
And what is Baroness Orczy famous for? I know the name..........
Scarlet Pimpernel, Googled her, I will repay is the second Pimpernel book I think?

Thanks - I was too lazy to do that but I should have known.
I see you've hit 100. Well done!
I've realised I've got what seems to be a first edition of "The Terror of St Trinians" by Timothy Shy and Ronald Searle from 1952.
Would anyone think it's worth much? The dust jacket has a few tears but it is nearly 60 years old.

About a tenner, looking at the ones available on Amazon. Better than a kick in the nuts, but you'll probably have to keep on working.
