Cramming is different from revision. Aside from adopting 'cramming' from your films and TV shows, I can't think that we have a specific term for that "frantic, last-minute preparation". Revision is the whole process of going over material. I've been revising for ... well, a few days at least. That's neither frantic (although perhaps panicked), nor particularly last-minute. It's just re-visiting it and refreshing topics in my mind which I last looked at in, say, November.
