My first contribution Page 2
I threw a little paddy and deleted this post.
This did nothing for me as a standalone piece. I didn't like the whimisical conversation about food and the final pun.
No Marc, he's not. Now go away and busy yourself with something worthwhile. Same to everyone else about to start throwing accusations around.
Yeah, let's all stop accusing people of being trolls and just make racist comments instead
OP - what were you hoping to do with this piece?
Hi guys,
Firstly I'd like to thank you for the number of replies I've had for my first post, and secondly for the positive responses.
Woodmeister-
Thanks for the compliments. At one point I had written this as a sketch, much the same as your re-write. But I fancied doing it in a slightly different style. Maybe it doesn't work so well. Also thank you for actually getting it.
As far as these trolling allegations go...
I've seen this term used a couple of times on this forum and, to be honest, I'm not sure what it means exactly. I can only assume it's copying or lifting material or something that is not appreciated on these forums.
Rest assured, this sketch is totally original (as far as I'm aware), and I would like to clear my name as a troll. However, as I am unaware of it's true definition I cannot do so.
Cheers
Chris
Chris, they're all terribly paranoid right now. Ignore it. Not worth your time.
For the record, a troll is someone who seeks to only cause trouble, starting arguments and friction between existing members purposely, and generally being a disruptive tit.
Dolly, that's as God intended.
Blimey, you've never heard of the term 'troll' before?

Tell you what Aaron point out the post where I called Mister W a troll and I'll buy you a curly wurly!

I had to look it up myself as I wasn't quite sure exactly what it was.
As Trolling seems to include posting irrelevant or off topic messages I'll comment on the sketch as well.
I did think that there were some funny lines, and the ideas were good.
I wasn't sure about it as a whole, but it's certainly inventive.
Not until 3 secs ago.
I know my sketch wasn't to everyone's taste, but I'd hardly say it was deliberately seeking to cause trouble...
As far as where it's going... It was part of a friend and mine's ongoing rant/sketch/sitcom/idea about 'kooky' people.
You're right. I DON'T like the 'whimsical' conversation about food, or what happens behind the fridge door once it's closed. That's the point. It's the kind of shit you hear people passing off as humour all the time.
Sorry if you don't like the pun, I think it's rather amusing. The point, which is perhaps lost, is the frustration of the second man. Maybe more of the context needs to be shown. First post though, the whole things a work in progress...

I was referring to your accusation that "he's back", and not WoodMeister.

I did get that, but as it's nearly the only humour in the passage (it's not actually a sketch, is it?) it still has to be funny - especially if it's that long.
But it's difficult to tell because I don't really know what this is part of? Is it prose, a script, or what?
Quote: Griff @ May 8 2009, 10:21 AM BSTI can tell you what it's part of, and it's none of the above.
I don't know how people find the time.
"I Puts The Lightie On" was a 1958 Tommy Steele B side about the chap who switches the light on when you open the fridge door.
There's a little man in the fridge
Livin' with the ham and the butter
He just has to stand in the fridge
Waitin' till you open the shutter
Brilliant stuff. Maybe you could incorporate him.
