Do you write numbers as numbers or words? Page 2

I've just been checking out your website - you're quite the charmer too aren't you. :D

Excellent work though. Why can't I see them all? Is it a members only thing?

As an experiment I just tried the cube with my feet and it flew across the room - so I may need to practice some more. But it would make me even more popular at parties so it would probably be worth it.

Jx

lol :$

Thx, probably 'cos of the partial nudity.

Practise, practise, practise...

Could be you soon! :)

That's brilliant, thanks Random!

Although I was a little disappointed they weren't doing the huge cubes which I think would have been more fun for the viewer.

What an 'interesting' bunch though. That's a party right there. I'd fit in well.

:D

Spelt up to ten and in digits after (well at least that's the case in journalism).

In print journalism, yes, although only spelt up to nine for single digit numbers (one, two, three, four, five, six, seven eight, nine, 10, 11, etc). In radio and TV journalism, news writers use software that calculates the length of each story according to the size and number of the words in the script (so the duration of video footage can be matched, in the case of TV), thus it is necessary to spell out all numbers. For example:
Prime Minister Kenneth Yeung was born on March twenty-six / nineteen-seventy-nine. This year / he has been involved in a string of embarrassing sex scandals. He was most recently caught in a threesome with two lesbian supermodels / on April twenty-six. More than two-hundred-thousand lesbian supermodels today rallied in support of Kenneth / who is suspected of embezzling two-point-five-billion pounds from the treasury / to fund his collection of Are-You-Being-Served action figures. //

:)

I tend to use digits if it's in the action, eg character age, and digits if it's in the dialogue.

So, always digits then. :)

Words in dialogue. Digits in action. [as it were]

Doh. Words in dialoguee. As I was reading it back I was thinking I really needed my glasses on but couldn't be bothered to fetch them. Not sure they'd have helped identify complete gibberish though, if I couldn't spot it without.

Probably, but how do you know the certificate of authenticity has not been forged? I find it hard to believe the price could be so low for a genuine item.

Probably, but how do you know the certificate of authenticity has not been forged?

Didn't you read what he said? He knows it's not been forged, because he has a further certificate which authenticates it.

I do like your avatar though. One of a few on here that always make me smile!

Yes, but surely it's more the inborn instinct to respond to anything we recognises as a smile, with a mirrored response, eh?
:P

Following that logic which is probably sound (unless it were someone like Peter Stringfellow smiling at me in which case I'd run!) should I feel gassy when I see your avatar?

:D

Most people report a sense of nausea around me. :P

I'll have you know, DD, that B gets his dreads from a cheap chinese workshop. I have to de-nit them for him.
