And now, the end is near... Page 7

Sigh. Any chance we could just leave things where they are? I know its not exactly peachy but I don't think stirring them up again isn't going to help, and to be honest it's all getting a bit boring. There's already too many people leaving over this.

Any comment on the PM you sent to me, Don? (my 'print-screen' contained within this link):

If you have a problem with something I have written, be a man and PM me.

If not, FUCK OFF!

I told you to f**k off, and I stand by that.

But that was AFTER people suggested I might be a troll - which I am not.

Quote: swerytd @ May 6 2009, 9:58 AM BST

Right. Don't let the trolls win, Graham, Huge Bear. Please come back.

I'm going to say this once and (try my best) not (to) respond, as that's exactly how we all get roped into this trolling behaviour.

If something is winding you up in 'Critique', please stop reading the thread and try really, *really* hard not to respond. Go read something else within 'Critique' and give feedback on that instead. There are plenty of scripts (good/bad/ugly) in there that don't get any feedback, whereas the 'trolling' threads rack up an inordinate amount of stuff, with people 'having' to respond. There are a lot of writers (wannabe or otherwise) who would like feedback on their stuff. A lot of them need advice one way or the other and would appreciate that, especially from the more experienced writer-types.

If you find yourself responding to the same thread three or four times just stop and think: am I deliberately being dragged in here? before giving the sad loser with no purpose the satisfaction of responding.

I don't mean to annoy anyone here and, obviously, take back any comments if someone's blood starts to boil for any reason. I'm not going to respond any further to this thread, for exactly the reasons that the trolls do!

Dan

Well said that man. As SlagA once wrote, critique is a melting pot of different writers at different levels and with different aims. That's whats good about it, hobbyists can sit comfortably with the more professional writers in a cacophony of fun (some funnier than others of course). If you don't like something, ignore it, it's as simple as that.

Peace.

To further clarify: Bandage, Bear and I were given official warnings for the above offence.

Make your own judgement on that one.

Arguing with and saying things, im- or explicitly, about apparent trolls creates more tension than trolls do in the first place. It is clearly set out in the board rules that members engaging in these accusatory public mud-slinging matches will be considered to be trolls, and dealt with accordingly. You and I both know that your intentions were in the right place so I'm not going to ban you, or any of the others, over the matter, but when you're asking me to sort out members you suspect of having multiple accounts, you can't expect me to overlook other rulesset out specifically for this kind of incident. As I said in the first sentence, arguing and accusing people almost always creates more trouble than they have in the first place.

Pre-e-e-zunctly.

Re: don's PM to Morrace, reeeeally not helpful to either send or post it publicly (just not cricket, Morrace - if you had a complaint with it then you should have directed it to one of the moderators). I will, again, rewrite the board rules to cover abusive PMs.

Reeeeally helpful to me though Aaron! It gave me immense satisfaction. I'm sure Don just laughed at it. Though of course I won't do it again. Sorry

In fact, Don could use it in one of the his many up-and-coming TV projects that he's writing/producing/directing at the moment. What a guy, huh?

Hey Don - how about a remake on "Billy Liar"? That would be good. Mind you, the name 'Billy' is a bit old fashioned. How about, say, replacing it with 'Dan' or something similar? There again Don, there might be copyright problems as you'd well know because you've 'worked in TV for a number of years'.

I'm working on a little sketch at the moment about a guy who's suffering from illusions of grandeur. I'll be posting in in 'Critique' in the near future. When I do, I'd love you to give me any professional advice.

I'd like to publically apologise to you, Don, for being so childish and posting your PM telling me to "F**k off". I'm sure you didn't mean it. Even if you did, I forgive you.

No problem, Morrace.

And all potential TV ideas considered!

One other thing, please do send offensive/abusive messages to me or my family, via my Facebook account. You have very much upset my wife, who has nothing to do with the BSG whatsoever.

Pretending to be a Facebook "friend", posting offensive material, and then signing off pp Morrace (from the BSG) does not make you big nor clever. Please do not do it again.

Have a go at me, by all means - but do not bring my family into it.

For those that are not in the know, me and Morrice (Maurice) go way back. We used to work together - and had a falling out.

We have fought each other on various sites over the years, and I for one am getting tired of it.

However, if he, or anyone else, continues to goad me on here, I will naturally fight my corner.

Right guys... can we give it a rest please. I don't want to close a thread, but I'm getting fed up with all this.

Why do people make such a big thing of leaving message boards/forums. Just leave if you want to. This is all a bit silly isn't it? Get a grip people.

Either:

1) A very clever wind-up on your part in order to give everyone the impression that I'm harassing you and your family. Interesting that you PM me with 'F**k off!' and not re. the alleged harrassment which you posted here.

2) Your Facebook "friend" is not me.

Or:

3) Even paranoids have enemies.

If you do have someone sending offensive/abusive messages to you or your family, via your Facebook account; I sincerely sympathise. More to the point - if this person is 'pp' ing 'Morrace (from the BSG)' then he/she is misleading you and leading you 'up the garden path'! You should report it to facebook and/or the appropriate authorities - they have the means to trace and prosecute. I and my family use a well known internet provider - there is no way I would jeopardise that.

On a lighter note, Don; re. your 'all potential TV ideas considered!' I don't post TV ideas on BSG. My piece will be just an excercise in writing - gotta keep them literary muscles in shape!

God after reading some of the last 7 pages, this is rather silly and pathetic. I suggest to some of you that you should perhaps shut the lid of your laptops and take a walk outside because there are actual people out there.

Graham posted a single goodbye post because he has a lot of friends on here, as the responses demonstrate, and wanted to let them know he was going. That's neither silly, nor making a big thing.

Is this from the guy who posted on here looking for dating advice?

Yes that would be me. I'm not embarrassed or ashamed of doing that. Some people were very helpful.

One thing I will never understand is how people get so worked up over a message board, it's not that important.

And telling people they are silly and pathetic and need to get a grip isn't getting worked up?
