Contains Nuts Sketch Show

Hello guys,

This is our project to try and get new writers a chance to showcase their stuff. So far we have started with a small, easy to film selection of sketches but we want more in the same style.

So if you like what we have done and want to be involved then send us THREE low/no budget sketches. We have interest from at least one production company who might be able to provide us with different locations such as a restaurant or a hospital room. Also try and keep the cast to one female (max two), two males (max three). And email them to me at funnierthandeath@googlemail.com. We'll hope to look at the next batch on the 18th May 2009, so get them in before then.

Good stuff - will get thinking.

Great stuff. I have to say that Material Girl sketch is easily the best! Was it deliberate that the sketches all had a similar theme?

Yes, we only had one location for the shoot so we had to utilise the domestic sketches.

A worthwhile project indeed. Well done Nuts good work. I've sent along one of my little gems. When I say gem I mean a liitle red sweety thing I found stuck to the under side of my shoe. Tasty though.

Thanks Simon, that's a great start. Thanks to everyone who's supporting this. Its our first crack at this and we can only get better, especially as we have some fantastic sketches lined-up - they just need a different location that we're working on.

What location do you need ?

We're hoping to get something that could look like a restaurant and a hospital bed. We've got a few sketches for those scenarios.

How about sketches where I can provide the costume needed and the location is just a bit of forest or somesuch?

Send it through. I'll go over them all with the producer and DoP so they'll let me know if its feasible.

Look into a green/ blue screen set up. Then have a restaurant/ hospital 'photo' behind the keyed footage. Can also enhance the 'comedic' feel. I've a blue screen you're welcome to borrow. You'd need to get/ hire some lights. Or if you have a small budget, I know some good budget studio space. Look (and marvel) at the possibilities with a green screen set up:

Thanks ShoePie, well you guys started it all off. I think quite a few people might have tried here, but its so difficult to get completed. You need actors, producers, directors, editors, cameramen all willing to give up their spare time to organise, film and edit the thing.

Pretty much everyone had to do multiple jobs and I ended up directing and editing the whole thing on top of writing/editing the sketches. And breathe... worth it though if people like it.
