No. Really.

Well I haven't seen it, something to do with sitcom puns and when he finished Graham Norton said "Michael McIntyre! One Foot In The Grave?". Isn't on the iPlayer one as far as I'm aware.
He came onto make an award with Tess Daly. Started by asking who needed a wee. Then asked who *could* wee, then went on and on about wee. Got a couple of laughs... Then Tess Daly said "This award is for best sitcom.." and he went off with "Cheers friends! 'Allo 'Allo!..." talking nothing but sitcom names to an embarrassed near silence. Daly said (sticking to script but looking worried) "Are you going to do that all night?" to which he replied "Yes... Minister!" and died on his arse..
Award was presented, they moved off, and Norton said "Michael McIntyre: One Foot In The Grave" and the audience REALLY laughed. But they edited that out of the broadcast.
iPlayer at about 1hr 6m I think?
Poor Michael McIntyre. Yes, his little routine bombed - but at least he tried it. Most comics didn't even bother to try and make people laugh.
I felt sorry for Graham Norton too - the audience really didn't warm to his jokes. He had to soldier on in silence. And the one quick witted joke he did make that, reportedly, made the audience laugh (the One Foot In The Grave one at McIntyre) was cut!
Overall a woeful BAFTAs I wish I hadn't bothered with - a lot of awards were handed out to the wrong people (for example, patchy at best The IT Crowd better than The Inbetweeners, Outnumbered and Peep Show?!? - wtf!!)

Seems Ok to me! It would have been between it and Peep to me anyway.

Not sure about The IT Crowd being patchy, but it was no way deserving of the award in comparison to the other nominees.
I thought McIntyre's routine was quite clever. And like Mark says, the audience didn't really like any of it. Norton's own routine wasn't received very well.
Why did they cut the One Foot In The Grave line?
McIntyre has never made me laugh... although that probably makes him a step better than the other guests on Mock the Week.
The IT Crowd was undoubtedly the weakest of those three in my opinion, but it had a real explosion in popularity since series 2 aired for some reason (over here at least, I hope it isn't cos people prefer Matt Berry to Chris Morris) so it's not that surprising considering:
The Inbetweeners is about teenagers and on E4 which would kill its chances of getting votes.
Peep Show still gets low ratings doesn't it?
Outnumbered isn't getting half as much praise a show as good and as big as it deserves.

All but one of the BAFTAs are awarded by a panel, not the public. But otherwise your reasoning would work.

Oh... well The Inbetweeners is still the same.
Peep Show won last year?
Linehan would also have much higher rep amongst the panel.
Lord knows why Hamilton didn't get it.

Possibly. But it got excellent reviews all-round, I think. Supposedly they should judge these things on clinical merits. But yeah.
Maybe they just prefered The IT Crowd . . ? Mad idea, I know.

Maybe because he's being groomed for greatness within the BBC and it seemed like killing their own. I believe he's got hos own show in the pipeline soon?
It was a shame, McIntyre's a great standup and it must be a nightmare when you get a cold, stuffy audience like that. F**k 'em.

I'm of the opinion that McIntyre is a f**king terrible stand-up. Crap jokes delivered in a deliberately fey way, does not a great comic make.
I loved watching him die on his arse. Bet the Beeb weren't too chuffed though - as you say Lee - he's being groomed for greatness.
So it's moreso a presenter slot than a full show of is own?
I think he's made a career from pretending to laugh at his jokes.
