What do you mean exactly? Are you unsure as to why he is there and who he is?

I mean what is the point of him.

To add a bit of balance and someone for Donna to be involved with. What's the alternative, just pining over Gaz for the whole series?

Alternative = Ending the series and not producing weak storylines, charcters and overall programme. TTBH IMO it went downhill when Flo went but when Johnny went that was it.

I think that the voting will be interesting and I will be voting on... well I tell you after the vote has been closed as I don't want to inflence voting. Also I think that they will be Series 9 as the cast asked for another series so if the cast want to do another series then I think it will get the go ahead.

Finally got around to watching last week's episode, D.I.V.O.R.C.E on the commute this morning. Fabulous. Particularly loved Donna as Janet, and the playground scene. Some very good stuff there. Susan Nickson definitely still writes the best of the episodes. Looking forward to watching this week's one.

I loved the playground scene.
Was particularly great to see why Gaz is scared of sheep. :)

:D Yes!

Has anyone seen the trailer for the episode for Sunday about voting on who Gaz should stay with? I wonder how they going to do the voting? Phone or internet?

Haven't seen it yet.

I'm thinking the result will be pretty much 100% one way!

I would have thought internet. Who's going to pay money to vote for that? Surely it's more just a fun thing than a money making thing?

I think you're right, but I'm pretty sure it will be a cert that Gaz will go with Donna to make the show more right.

Ooo blimey. I won't be voting. There's no way I can choose. I really do like the Gaz & Janet dynamic, but there's still the spark with Donna. Can they not live in sin with Gaz keeping two women?

Ew.

He sooooo belongs with Donna!

Although in reality he would be the shittest possible boyfriend a girl could have, and I wouldn't wish him on either of them. :)

Really, I'm not bothered whichever way everyone votes. There'll probably be a series 9 so if people aren't happy they can just move things about a bit more. I'll probably vote for Janet (coz he should probably be with Donna) just to annoy all the people that will be voting for Donna, and to see what they do about it next series. (That is if everyone else votes for Janet, obviously.)

I would like to see Janet and Donna together with lots of intimate scenes, would make me keep watching.

I'm always partial to a bit of good ol' fashioned Two Pints bashing, but this series has seen a significant improvement in quality. Not just the writing, but the performances have improved as well. "Candle" and "D.I.V.O.R.C.E." are two standout episodes in my opinion. It might be because it's not... traditional. The juvenile attempts at humour seem to have been toned down a bit. The show has finally improved after getting rid of Ralf Little. Now just to get rid of Louise, who, if we're honest, adds nothing to the dynamic of the group at all.
