Hi ,
I am going to the meeting tomorrow.
I have sent a couple of dozen sketches but they have not used anything -yet, They sent an invite to the meeting so I will pop along.
see you there folks!
NewsRevue again! Page 42
Plus it will be good to meet Griff and SootyJ again, who I believe are going, and put some more faces to the lists I keep reading on here.
Well, everyone knows what I look like, but all you lot are anonymous.
I won't be able to recognise anyone.
Is the show usually straight after the meeting or is it on quite late?
I think they said it runs for about an hour. 9:30 - 10:30 ish, I do believe, but don't quote me on that.
OK, so it's Kate, Jane, me, and perhaps Sooty and Griff.
Any more?
I was planning to go but alas can no longer make it. I am planning to send in some stuff for the Edinburgh show though, after disappointment of having one dropped after the previews last year (admittedly, it was about 6 months old and a very obscure story...)
Thanks Mikey - I'll find you and say hello. I'll probably be there early.
And Kate I shall look out for you too (somehow!)

Writers finding?
Sniff out the smell of biterness and despiar.
Or just yell "I'm a BBC producer."
Bring a protactor to prize them off your bottom.
LOL @ sootyj
And Jane...
Yeah, I'll get there early too. I'll be propping up the bar and will try not to get too pissed before the meeting.
Thing is... I'll be looking out for that woman who's your avatar.
Why oh why do people have avatars of comedy performers/stand-ups/Dr Who, etc?
How am I supposed to recognise anyone?
My avatar is distinctive is it not?
I wanted to go, but can't make it - I'll say hi now instead
My avatar is distinctive is it not?
Yes, but now I'll be looking out for Columbo with an elephant behind him.
Maybe we'll see you next time, bigfella.
I think I shall be going. Should be great to meet all you talented people! Pity don't think I'll have anything in this week though. Though won't have to face verbal criticism at least
I'll be the one wearing a mask with a red carnation on
Should be great to meet all you talented people!
Looks behind myself. Then a who-me gesture.
Howdi
Just got me a sketch in. Only had the one in before, do they tend to keep a similar line up for a month and then change them all?
How was the meeting?
Has anyone got this weeks running order ?

And yes, I went to the meeting.
It was good to meet many of the peeps here including Griff, sootyj, Jane P, Kate Lane, Rob0, plus other NewsReveue/Treason regulars such as Tom Johnstone and Martin Malcolm, and putting faces (instead of avatars!) to names.
(sorry if I've missed anyone out!)
There were lots of other writers there who I didn't get a chance to meet/see who they were, but the evening went so fast.
It's a pity I had to do a "Cinderella" and get back to Victoria Station before midnight to catch the train back to Sussex, otherwise I'd have stayed longer.
Oh, it was also good to watch the show, to get a feel of what it's about.
Hi Rick
I enjoyed your sketch - it was well performed too. Will you get to see it?
Thanks Mikey - it was great to meet you and the others there.
I felt like a 'real' writer at the meeting and hope I can get something else used by them at some point!
It was a great fast paced show and seemed pretty full for a Thursday night which surprised me. Excellent cast too. I don't know how they do it, but looks like they can handle whatever's thrown at them.
I look forward to seeing more and to the Edinburgh version now.
