Amazing story of how Ramona Marquez got chosen for the part in Outnumbered. I found out while searching for other stuff she had been in (to find nothing) but her story cheered me up no end. Who needs acting school!?

Was that the story that she was at a party that one of the directors happened to be at, or something?

Also thought it was quite amusing that cast members from The Wire were there, probably thinking they're on a promise for Best International award and they were pipped by (the equally superb) Mad Men. Which was represented by nobody, doubtless presuming as with everybody else that The Wire would walk it.

To be fair, they were 2 of the 3 British actors in the cast, and do live here - it's not like they brought 5 Americans over to not win the award.

I'm sure I spotted David Simon in the audience as well. Maybe not, though.

They'll get their time, I'm sure - British Comedy Awards, definitely.

Oh, now that IS funny!

Have you seen series 2 isn't out on DVD until November? Anyone know why?

Most series have a long wait between the broadcast and release. It's not something exclusive to Outnumbered.

Yep, sure is. Great story.

Your avatar reminds me zoo, David Tennant is such a good public speaker as demonstrated the other night.

Yes he is rather good isn't he. Never seems to get all stuttery and uncomfortable like most other actors do.

Or ask people if they need a piss

Bit of a sweeping statement. I would imagine actors would be rather good at public speaking, since it's just another role to them.

Yes, what was that Michael McIntyre bloke doing there, precisely? Was he really thinking that all that was good and funny? What a fool!

Particularly when they're reading words off a big screen.

And the sitcom title gags...oh dear.

It was like Gervais at the Diana gig.

At least Gervais had a body of work to fall back on. Unlike this tit.

You strip the magic out of everything, John. I thought it was all spontaneous wit! :(

Well yeah exactly. You would assume they'd be great at it. But have you ever seen an awards show? Most of them are horrific at it.

Errr

Anyway. Pity that there wasn't a single correct winner at the awards. Not unlike any other awards show though I suppose.

Couldn't agree more. He looked confident and comfortable AND like he wasn't reading it. Most look nervous and phased quite frankly.

And Jonathan Ross should have hosted it, not Dragraham Norton.
