Me and the Mrs are going to a restaurant which specialises in traditional British food like bangers & mash, boiled beef & carrots etc. Later on in the evening, we'll be meeting up with friends for drinks and if the weather's nice, burn down the local Mosque.

I shall be spending St George's Day like I always do - in a state of total indifference to it.
Although I may go out and slay a dragon later if the fancy takes me.
On the day when England were playing Portugal in 2006 at the quarter finals stage of the World Cup, one tabloid's headline was 'Do it for St George'. Someone probably should have realised he's also Portugal's Patron Saint.

A few years ago we spent St. George's Day at a concert for the Tsunami relief fund and ended up singing Jerusalem along with Billy Bragg. Doesn't get a lot more English than that.

It's actually a day dedicated to George Roper from George and Mildred. Probably the greatest Englishman ever.
