Why does Torchwood suck so bad? Page 2

Show is Rubbish. Gwen is hot. Really couldn't care less if they all died and were replaced though. I don't think it knows what it wants to be and as a result it just comes across as a jumbled mess.

N.B. I have never seen Curt so angered.

I fear to reccomend the Sara Jane Adventures to him.

N.B. did that K9 cartoon ever happen?

n.N.B. That Dr Who cartoon was really awful.

Was that the cannibal one that had no science fiction in it at all?

Does it have to? It's a sci-fi/fantasy/adventure series; it doesn't have to rely on just sci-fi concepts to tell a story.

. As did the bits with Jacks brother.

That guy was possibly the worst actor in the world. Possibly.

True but it was a pretty good story.

I like the episode with the sexy black cyberwomen. And although it is camp as hell, and John Barrowman is a terrible chubby actor, it is trying to do something you don't see much on British TV: grown up sci-fi. Of course then you see Battlestar Galactica and realise just how naff it is.

Chubbist.

Torchwood is most entertaining: a car crash made by people who aren't great at doing what they do, but who are busting a gut to get as much diversity, pc-ness and gay stuff in as possible. Watch it and have a laugh.

Chubbist.

And proud of it. There's no excuse for chubbism.

And sorry Zooo, I'll still take your recommendations seriously despite Torchwood :)

Yayy!
I'll do better next time.

Torchwood is unsuitable for children, which is not quite the same thing as being grown up. Sometimes Dr. Who can be very grown up indeed. Russell T. Davies seems to see Torchwood mainly as a platform for presenting promiscuous bisexuality as a societal norm. I am still waiting for the episode where the whole of Torchwood is wiped out by a virulent alien STD.

I want the StarTrek crossover where they all bum Kirk.

At the end of the day, Torchwood's just a forty-five minute Range Rover commercial with cottaging interludes. None of the character's is likeable - especially that bloke who looks like he's been in a firework accident. Portraying him as a womaniser was laughable.

Only one episode moved and entertained me - the one with the glove - the rest were forgettable - although unfortunately not forgettable enough.

Crowd hoot?

What about Cod Rots? Very popular amongst the elderly and unemployed, and written for by our very own Cramp. :)
