Hey David, just checked a few of your sketches including The Weather Brain.
This is my favourite of the bunch - made me laugh. Brilliant idea and the dialogue was great.
Out of curiousity, which one are you?
Thanks for sharing,
Craig
Hi Craig and thanks for giving it a listen. I play the weary boss in this one while Matthew Stott, the author, plays the crafty employee.
I liked this one and the twist is pretty good but I think continues a bit too long after that and undercuts the quite powerful punch from Signes.
Otherwise good stuff.
Also I think if the twist was to come from the Boss it could be snappier.
And no mention of The Event! Or was that film to shit for anyone to watch?
Thanks for the nice feedback so far. Neither myself or David are really at home with writing purely audio stuff, which is why we're giving it more of a go. There are certainly lessons to be learned from these first few. Lessons like, 'Write better audio sketches'.
Reminds me of the Clive sketches from Monkey Dust:

Never seen them.

The Happening you mean? We did discuss it but, neither of us having watched it, weren't entirely sure of the diabolical twist. Something to do with vengeful trees?

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about those. Let's hope everyone else has too shall we?
Sorry.
Damn that was really good: Writing and acting. I think if I had seen the sketch written down I would suggest some cuts, get to the jokes quicker, but it's great as it is.

Thanks. Especially acting wise as that's something we're trying to work on. And you're right about cutting things down, I wrote it and even I think it goes on too long!

Thanks, Yacob. Yeah, Matt does have a habit of going on. And that draft was after I'd made some wise and sexy cuts. It's funny, in real life Matt's a taciturn little swine - he only get's talky when he breaks out his laptop.
Is he as argumentative in real life as he is on these boards?

Not at all in fact. He's terribly pliant.

He just kicks you under the table in real life.
