I love Classical music. Apart from Pavarotti I don't know of any other great classical singers or great songs.
Can anyone recommend any for my IPod?

Recently I have been listening to Gorecki symphony of sorrowfull songs, particularly the last two movements.
Classical music and opera is a bit like modern stuff, in that it depends on what kind of music you like. The easiest thing to do would be to download an album like 'The 100 greatest classical works'.
I like my classical / opera to have a bit of a kick, so I can recommend the following 'bangin' choons' -
Des Iraes - Verdi's Requiem
Des Iraes - Mozart's Requiem
Ride of the Valkyries - Wagner
Seigfrieds Funeral March - Wagner
A Night on Bald Mountain - Mussorgsky
In the Hall of the Mountain King - Greig
Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor - Bach
All of these works are best listened to during a thunderstorm, I normally put them on full blast, climb onto my roof wearing a cape and mask and scream at my neighbours.
Though if you want to have a good chill out, you cannot beat Thomas Tallis' Spem in Alium, it gets those beta waves a rolling.

Absof**kingloutely. What one do you have? Is Dawn Upshaw the soprano?
Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez

No Zofia KIlaowicz and the Polish State Philhamonic
I'd recommend:
The first movement from Vivaldi's winter
Paganini's Caprice No. 24 in A minor (for violin)
Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 (which was featured in Tom & Jerry's 'Cat Concerto': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqxZ3AYjuJo)
Albinoni's Adagio
Barber's Adagio for Strings
Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana
A lot of these will probably be really familiar to you anyway - sort of sweeping strings and shit
But I'd agree with Renegade - if you can get one or two compilations of the best classical tunes (as I did), you can find some great stuff on there
Portsmouth Sinfonia. Nuff said.
More people are into classical music than I thought. Nice surprise.
Anything by Gustav Mahler.
