When did you laugh your loudest? Page 2

I don't quite understand why a line being "unscripted" makes it funnier than one that is? Funny's funny, no matter how it's arrived at.

Yes I agree funny is funny but I am sometimes amazed at just how quick some people arrive there. For me personally that is a major talent.

Now that particular scene might have taken 3 takes so for me, although still hilarious, it would have taken a little gloss of the end product, but only a little.

I frequently have to leave the office and have secret laughter sessions due to this very reason.

Trouble is, they probably think you've either got diaohrea or a serious wanking habit.

Or both...

Sort of. But surely some lines in scripted shows like Alan Partridge or Peep Show may have come instantly, while others laboured over for months.

:D Funnily enough, whenever I feel sick I do also get very horny.

I generally try not to laugh out loud because people who laugh out loud don't look very cool.

You seem to think that'd make some kind of difference to you?

I read the big book of Curb and from that Larry tell us how he and the producer are the only one's who know the script beforehand, he likes to keep people reactions completly natural. He sometimes, if he needs the scene to go in a certain direction, will mention a snippet to the cast, e.g - I need you to ask about dinner plans tonight! But for the most part it is totally unscripted.

The producer has been known also to tell a cast memebr something so they can catch Larry unaware, e.g Krazy eye Killa, Larry had no idea that rap was coming.

Ah ok... Doesn't fully account for it, but fair enough. :)

It's well known that it's not scripted but the cast are given the basics of what they have to do and say in each scene.

it's improvising!

It makes me sad that you feel the need to try and bait me all the time. :(

I have no doubt some of the one liners would come have come instantly and the shows are probably funnier for that. Im not convinced curb would have been half as funny if the lines had been laboured over. Perhaps I am worng?

My point being that Curb, to me, is a great show and relies soley on improv. No other sitcom has ever done that.

One girl at work recently dubbed me as 'the king of wanking'.

I think a lot more preparation goes into it than you think. And I'm sutre all of the cast spend a lot of time crafting in their own minds lines they'll say.

And in another thread you were bemoaning your lack of success! I'd kill for a title like that. :)

Ignorance is bliss!

I do hope your wrong but nevertheless still a great sitcom. :D

Watching an awful comedian ingest an entire bucket of bananas in penance for an awful set.

As chipolata says, there's no way that as little pre-work goes into it as you think. And even if it does; Outnumbered.
