I mean what could be funnier then two men smashing up a fake set for 10 minutes whilst a woman pretended to play trombone?

I think she actually was managing to play it herself. :)

Ah well, I take back everything I've said now. :D

Good!

And it had a trombone - a link to 'jazz' comedy - wow, what a deep metaphor.

Well that one sketch, contained more thought than most recent sketch shows combined.

Do you worship Stewart Lee every Sunday or are there mid week services?

Nope, as I say some sketches didn't work. I really didn't like the Bill Hicks one, I didn't get the point he was making or find it funny. But the Apple Sketch was great.

Perhaps if you bully me, question my intelligence or lambast me enough, I could change my mind.

Ow! Ow! I really like the Apple sketch.

(Not really, I like Jesus). :P

I loved his little dig at the 'Scary Movie' franchise. However, I was annoyed to see that the episode was only 23 mins long before that apple sketch at the end.

I am starting to realise that I must be be profoundly stupid, because I never know what point he is trying to make or why it is funny.

Aye, he's really slaughtering those sacred cows...

Apart from the Bill Hicks sketch, I barely laughed during this episode. Not good for a comedy vehicle IN MY OPINION.

As for the fabled Apple Sketch - it doesn't really bother me how this ties in with Lee's notion of jazz comedy *baulks* if it's not funny IN MY OPINION then there's no point scratching the veneer for meaning.

I found this weeks episode very funny.

I did, however, not find the apple sketch very funny. He tied in his earlier point about jazz through someone playing the trumpet? I don't see what's funny about that.

Not stupid, it's just not for you!!!! You don't find it funny, that is all.

Well, it was funny; which was the only point of it.

But... Bill Hicks is a sacred cow...

And that Franklin Ajaye stand up - is by no means the worst stand up I have ever heard - the James Brown - saving words up for another album etc is not bad. And the blues singers... why don't you go on and die brother. Raised a mild smile.

As for the Jazz Comedy - there was more to the Jazz aspect of the Apple Sketch then the trombone coming on (the way it broken down into a free form mess at the end)and it would have been a great note to end the series on (IMHO).

Am so pleased this has been on TV to offset... most other things.

Well, he was taking the piss out of the cover as opposed to the material. The pompous blurb compared to the stupid bit titles.

I liked the bit about Franklin Ajaye and mash potato. Very funny. In fact, the moment that Stewart Lee noted that he hadn't taken the LP out of it's cellophane wrapping had me laughing.

"I'm not going to listen to it, I have no interest in doing that." :D
