I didn't know who she was until Doctor Who. I never watched EastEnders before.
Men don't watch soap operas like EastEnders and Coronation Street we watch man-dramas like Heroes and Battlestar Galactica.

Especially when they live in Canadia-land. 
Yea we have US ones like Days of Our Lives and General Hospital.
Although Coronation Street is one of CBCs more popular import shows.
And we get EastEnders on BBC Canada. I've watched a bit of both resulting in being thoroughly confused and annoyed.
