...After his actions. Not before.

The same could be said about any crime: the criminal is charged after his actions, not before. But that doesn't make them any less guilty and it doesn't preclude the victim from taking action on the spot.

No. The 'criminals' were charged after the actions of the serviceman. He made a pre-judgement and only just managed to restrain himself from acting upon it. Or does America no longer have judges, juries, and courts, relying on vigilante justice?

He restrained himself very well. But here in America we aren't afraid that we'll get in trouble if we take action against a criminal. The justice system will almost always rule in favor of the victim.

Point I was trying to make. In the US owning firearms and using them against intruders isn't unheard of. Considering his state of mind I think he acted very well indeed. In the heat of the moment and under the same circumstances I would have probably taken them out as I expect most would have, then regretted the action later.

You're missing the point almost entirely. But hey, whatever makes you happy.

The point is that he didn't shoot anyone, he only thought about it. The bad guys went to jail and justice will be served.

We have a similar system except imagine that the other way round :D

I don't think shooting someone because they killed your pet is justified as this guy obviously didn't. However if someone broke into my house I would have no hesitation in taking them out with whatever means is at my disposal. I have two kids and therefore their protection comes first. I'll suffer my day in court later.

I'm a contradiction wrapped in an enigma wrapped inside a newspaper which contains a smoked haddock and two cod liver oil tablets.

TTPYO: Ellie's misplaced sense of loyalty will make her get in the car and drive across the country at stupid o'clock even if she is projectile vomitting, and then she'll complain about not feeling well next week.

I really nearly did go, but I just ended up doing the 4 hour drive to Bournemouth feeling like rubbish the next day. Bad traffic and I had a 15 minute kip in the back of my car at the services.

Something's whistling nearby. Like a piece of electrical equipment overloading and getting ready to explode. That's pissing me off.
