What is the best season of Seinfeld? Page 2

Think I wrote about that somewhere else on this site - part of the fun of the show:

For ages Jerry was the thing I liked least about that show - then it struck me:
It's a sitcom called 'Seinfeld'. About a comedian called Jerry Seinfeld. Played by the comedian Jerry Seinfeld. And the role he plays in the sitcom? Straight man. Genius.

He is also a rather poor actor for the first few seasons, but he really does get considerably better, which I think makes a huge difference. The Chinese Restraunt and the Bus Boy episodes are when I find it getting good. Not sure what season they are in though, or even if they are in the same season.
To answer your question, season 7 is my favourite, but probably because I have only just got around to watching it, 8 pound in Zavvi, recession baby!!

Both episodes mentioned here are from season two.

Not the ninth season anyway.

That's because Jerry isn't an actor. On the commentaries they often make fun of Jerry's acting ability. You can often see him laughing in scenes. But of course 'Seinfeld' was the pulling name and the reason he got a show in the first place. I think it's great how he often played straight man and gave the best lines and plots to the other characters, that is the mark of a true talent when he doesn't let his ego get in the way. He could have easily made the show all about him but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good.

I reckon season 4 is where it really found it's feet. The Contest and The Outing are amazing. I love 'em all though. Much prefer it to 'Curb (I might well be in the minority on this one though!)

Nope, it's superior in every way to me.
