It sure does here in Texas. I felt like I was going to keel over while working in the garden. "Sweaty and blistery" is not how I like to live my life.
Does it feel like summer where you are?
Yuck. No, it rained on and off all day.
I kind of wish I'd been out in it though, it seemed kind of misty and dewy.
Two days ago it got down near freezing and many of my plants bit the dust. This weather is making me schizo.

The weather is like that in the UK all of the time - warm one day, bloody freezing the next - that's why we're all obsessed by it. If it gets up to 77F for more then 3 days in a row, our infrastructure literally melts.
Are you in southern Texas Dabutt? I'm only asking because I'm fascinated by the stories of Mexican gangs crossing the border to kidnap wealthy Americans. And how the stories are being covered up in the US for fear of increasing racial tensions.
Is this actually happening or is it overhyped?

I'm in San Antonio; it's considered South Central Texas. We're about 150 miles from the border.
I think the kidnapping thing is hype, if not pure bullshit. I certainly can't see anyone trying to avoid raising "racial tensions" here because there are more Hispanic citizens than anyone else. Everyone gets along well. I think the kidnappings are a problem in Mexico, but the only problems we have here are the drugs and gang members that sell them. The good thing about gangs is that they tend to restrict their violence to other gang member and drug dealers.
Thanks for the answer DaButt. Probably just an urban tale that I'd heard about Mexicans crossing the border to kidnap and ransom US citizens.
Is there a difference between San Antonio and San Antone? Are they the same place with the pronounciation shortened for musical effect?

San Antone is just Texan-speak for San Antonio. I don't think I've lived here long enough to be able to use it.
An actual license plate offered here in Texas:
There is a sense of summer about this weekend.... blossom on the tree's, skip in my step, song in my head

Doesn't it feel like Summer everyday in Texas?
It actually freaking snowed three days in a row this week here in Ottawa. It made my students downright miserable to teach.
But this week looks promising, were finally back in the pluses for an average of about +8 throughout this week.
Yes that's warm for me.

I prefer heat to cold. It'll be that hot in most states within a month or two anyway.
The weatherman said yesterday's high of 99F was a record for the date. It's weird that it was only in the low 80s until after noon and then the temperature skyrocketed.
It's raining in Manchester. There's a shocka.
Summer in Hamburg
Well, the straw trilby on my head, a cernobylesque sunburn and a pair of hastily bought sandals on my feet suggest that it *is* in fact summer here.
It's way too hot.
*looks forward to autumn*

Aww. I was in Hamburg yesterday. The weather was lovely indeed. Not too hot.
