British Comedy Guide

Does anyone fancy writing a joint sketch on here?

edited version!

Who wants to write a sketch a bit like chinese whispers?

Each person adds their bit and passes onto the next via pm or email.

We all get 24 hours with it and at the end I'll post the first and final versions in the critique section. If it's any good we can send it on somewhere...

The only real rules would be to retain something of the version you've been sent and hopefully not scupper the whole thing! You don't have to send a fully formed sketch each time, until the end, but at least add something of your humour to it.

The more the merrier - ;)

Sounds great.

We would have to PM it to each other. We should create a list of 10 people who want to do it first and then send it to them in turn.

So....
1. Jane P
2. Tom G
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

then post in critique

Put me in early, so that the damage can be repaired.

:) Yep that's why I'm going early too.

Thanks Tom - sounds like a plan.

Jane P
Tom
Fred...

Who's next?

we don't necessarily need 10. If you want to get it going and send to me Jane then I'll take a look. I'd say maximum 24 hours with each person.

Blimey Tom - I don't actually have a sketch in mind - I was meant to be organising not starting. Let me have a think... Will send you something tomorrow morning.

Eek now I have a deadline! Who's bright idea was this?

Whistling nnocently

This sounds interesting so count me in.

I may have an idea to start us off with as well. I think there's potential in it but I just never got round to giving it much thought.

If you want me to PM it to you just let me know.

Cheers

ok Forshaw start and send to Jane P, if you have an idea.

Sorry I'm bored and have a whole easter weekend to distract from my sitcom writing.

Yep - I've given Chris my email address - then I'll pass it to Tom who'll pass it to Fred.

Someone else has to join in because Fred doesn't want to be last!

INT. BEDROOM ROOM - NIGHT

THE BEDROOM IS A MESS. IN THE CORNER SITS JOHN AT HIS COMPUTER, IPOD PLUGGED IN. MAGGIE STANDS BEHIND HIM.

MAGGIE
John, it's 3am. You must go to bed.

JOHN
Whatever.

MAGGIE
But you've got school tomorrow.

JOHN
I'm not going.

MAGGIE
Not all this again....

MAGGIE SNIFFS THE AIR.

MAGGIE
Have you been smoking cannabis again?

JOHN
So?

MAGGIE
It'll rot your brain. And it's a waste of money.

JOHN
Didn't cost a penny. I conviscated from one of my pupils.

There's a joint sketch for you. :)

Great idea. Put me down :D

Is there a limit to dialogue per writer or anything?

Cheers
Craig

Nice one Dolly - can I put your name down after Fred? :)

Not at all - it's your chance to do what you want with it. I think it will be interesting to see how different the first and final versions end up! If a good one gets lost in the middle that can be posted too and the critiquers can decide what they like best.

Ok so its...

1. Chris Forshaw
2. Jane P
3. Tom G
4. Fred
5. Dolly
6. Craig

Is that enough? then into critique?

Yup, definitely interested, I like sharing ideas, but pretty much all writing so far has been lone efforts. So given the time would give it a go

Hi Rob - glad you could make it.

Now where's Dan?

I'd say we should only stop when we run out of writers.

We have up to 24 hours each, but I suspect some of us will work quicker than that!

Or, if we end up with say more than 10 people we could split it into two projects and have a competition.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the first draft...
