British Comedy Guide

A new hello

Hi

I think this is the first forum I have ever joined which is nice. I'm a tad intimidated by some of the comedy I've seen in the critique forum but I do hope to get a bit of my sitcom... which is currently in my head... up on here at some point. I have wanted to write it for a couple of years and have finally got the guts/nerve/inclination to do it. I am also a teacher so obviously have lots of time on my hands...

My favourite comedy is the stuff written by Hugo Blick which there is not an awful lot of (Sensitive Skin, Marion and Geoff.) I like silly and subtle comedy... and a bit of satire. I'm not ashamed. And controversially I prefer the American Office to the British one. Crumbs.

I am looking forward to sharing ideas, thoughts, chatting about good sitcoms.

Geek I also wear glasses.

Foibles

Crumbs!

Good taste!

Wave Hello.

Hi

Controversy in your first post!? :O

I love both versions of The Office equally now, so I won't argue on that one.

I look forward to hearing more about your sitcom though. You'll find plenty of good advice and support on here if you want it.

Jx

I'll let you off for now.

Welcome!

(Does anyone else think that once they've reached a certain amount of posts then it's OK to 'welcome' people?)

Oops - Am I welcoming too soon? I thought getting a friendly hello from anyone was a good thing in this section!

It's just that I always thought that when I had done like 50 posts I thought "I shouldn't be welcoming people - I'm relatively new myself and haven't contributed enough". Stupid really.

Reminded me of Ricky Gervais when he was talking about how he's the right age and from the right class where it's OK for him to help a lorry driver back in

Welcome to you too Morrace.

Drinks and nibbles will be served in the foyer...

:)

Lovely ! I like a nice nibble Whistling nnocently

Cheers for all the friendly greetings.

Nibbles sound delightful. Apart from Twiglets.

Twiglets suck. You are not a Twiglet. Good evening from myself.

Not so good taste after all. ;)

Hehe. I just prefer my nibble a bit more substantial. My mum used to do boiled eggs, cut in half lengthways, with the yolk scooped out and mixed with mayo, piped (she thought she was posh) back into the egg and dusted with paprika.
Now that is a nibble.

Twiglets may not taste good but they look great in a bowl.

I like to think of them as the 'winklepickers' of the snack based world.
