On the way back to Peterborough from a course on Monday I got on the 1703 out of Kings Cross. We had been travelling barely a couple of minutes when we heard that there had been a fatality at Finsbury Park when someone jumped in front of the 1700 to Edinburgh. This ultimately led to a delay of some 50 minutes which, under the circumstances, wasn't as long as it could've been.
On the National Express/GNER commuter blog someone travelling on the same train as me posted their experience which virtually matched mine. For that reason I'll let him take up the story...

Not a life defining moment as such but the impact of one man's actions on many people's lives is clear for all to see. Chaos reigns!
