Loved Lead Balloon! I also find Magda (Anna Crilly) extremely cute so I hope it does come back for a second series, or at least on dvd!

Hi Tim. Welcome to the site. Lead Balloon will be back this autumn for a second series so not long to wait till you can see more Anna Crilly!
Is his American writing partner the bloke on the Phones 4 U adverts?
Come on people, you are allowed to like BOTH Lead Balloon and Curb. I know I do. Looking forward to the new series and the prospect of Thursdays being funny.
I like them both too.
And don't particularly think they're alike.
I like both, and though obviously I can see why people make the comparison, I also think that they are quite different. Anyway, the first series was good, wether its ripping off something else or not, so Im looking forward to the new ones.

I always liked the one with the Kiwis.
I'm actually looking forward to this coming back. It certainly had flaws but it kept me watching right through the series. And as someone who also watches Curb, there are obvious similarities (and Curb is better) but it didn't make Lead Balloon any less funnier in my eyes.
And as often mentioned before on here (including by myself), the bloke in the cafe does steal the show on occasions.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
I like it - I like Jack Dee anyway.
there are preview clips on http://www.myspace.com/bbc2comedy and Thursdays are funny facebook group.
The clip linked from the top right on myspace is fantastic -classic with the kids response to Magda's absence,,and Riks despondancy..I won't spoil it go watch
looking forward to watching all of it this on Thursday
I enjoyed last night's episode in the same way as I liked the previous series. In a 7/10 sort of way. Not astoundingly brilliant or groundbreaking, but enough laughs to keep me going to the end.
Rick Spleen is a strange character. Feel sorry for him when he constantly gets stitched up (especially by his daughter) but does anyone think he was just a bit TOO evil last night (grassing up the car salesman, about to take the memorial flowers from the lamppost)?. Or am I nitpicking?
I think he was noticeably more evil than last series.
Still liked it though.
Brilliant. Really enjoyed it, and some great laugh out loud moments. I'm further convinced that the only similarity between this and Curb is that it's a kind of comedian "behind the scenes" thing. Yes, you could argue that the characters are the same; bitter, put their foot in it, etc, but that's always been Jack's persona, so that argument is bollocks from start to finish.
Great show. Eagerly await next week's.
I thought last nights was very good. It got a bit of a kicking in The Independent today, though.
