Errrr...ok so I'm downloading the last episode (the Christmas episode) and I know there is a movie coming out this month but can someone tell me when the new series will be starting?!
imdb.com doesn't even seem to know.
How long are we going to have to wait for a new series.

There's a special next week, then another three popping up later on in the year. The next actual series isn't on until next year. It's some sort of tactic the production team have put togehter to keep the viewers interested by starving them a little of the show. So no full length series until next year, when Steven Moffat takes over as head writer from Russell T Davies and much awsomeness ensues.
What are your favourites from series four then Curt? For me the best episodes were in the second half of the run.

I'm actually very very disappointed now....
I guess I could *gulp* try watching season 1 again. Or try and find some good classic Who.
For my favourite episodes:
Season 2 I liked the Cybermen episodes and those devil in space episodes were kick ass.
Season 3 had some great episodes. Human Nature, Blink and all of those Master episodes were awwwwwwwwesome. Epic goodness.
I loved all of Season 4. It had me down right enthralled.
"Right enthralled?" Has the Master hit you with a northern ray?

With Father's Day, The Empty Child, Dalek... Series one was pure class.
But hadn't they always planned a break and specials? I think it was mostly because of having a new writer + crew.

I doubt they thought about it as a plan until a year or two in though and they realised it had the potential to run and run.

Ah, but you see, it works as a plan, because it keeps you wanting and interested rather than blase! But yeah, it's a pain.

The devil one was amazingly good; I'm not keen on how the show has handled the Cybermen since it's come back though; focussing on them being metal soldiers rather than the creepiness and the horror of the idea. And they were just thrown away in the latest Christmas special.
Human Nature was brilliant, loved it; and was there a more exciting fifteen minutes of TV than the end of the first Master episode, when he takes out that familiar fob watch we'd seen used in Human Nature and the drums start banging and Martha realises something happening?!

Yeah, that is not actually correct Aaron. It's been done for the reasons I stated, to try and safeguard the series and make sure it lasts for a long run.
How would it have kept Tennant going secret? I mean, everyone is going to have known for well over a year now before he actually does go!

I thought it had been done because David probably wanted to leave even earlier but they managed to keep him for one more 'series' by saying it would only be a few episodes long and he'd have time to do other stuff alongside it.

No, it was done to keep the show fresh, to keep viewers wanting more, to try and make sure it stays popular and wanted. If it's still going in a few more years, it will happen again. The star isn't bigger than the show, if he'd really wanted to go, they wouldn't have disrupted the whole production for him, he just would have regenerated at the end of last series.
Like they did with Eccleston.

Doesn't stop them freaking the shit out of me whenever I see them. Zavvi were selling posters of them, and I still jumped. Still the most terrifying enemy the Doctor has.
And I loved Jessica Stevenson in Human Nature. One of her best performances, and she looked great.
