Mathew Horne collapsed on stage today Page 2

I suppose it would be a bad time to say that it wasn't Horne who needed resuscitating. It was the material Horne and Corden was using in their sketch show.

I heard a fat man with a ginger afro ran on stage pushed him over and then ran off saying "it was me"

Ah see, that is funny.

But I refuse to laugh, damn you. :)

Rob's sent him a text but 'obviously they can't have mobile phones in hospital'. I thought they could now?

Depends on the hospital, and where in the hospital the person is.

Sounds a bit less serious than when he died on stage:

Get well soon Mat.

I kept wondering why they didn't carry him off somewhere private. It was health and safety gone mad...

If you've possibly damaged your neck or spine, the last thing you need is some idiot moving you just because people are watching.

I thought that was pretty funny! Maybe a tad long. The audience semed to be enjoying it too.

:)

It was horrible sitting there watching though. I kept wondering why they didn't carry him off somewhere private. It was health and safety gone mad...

That reminds of a girl I knew who was knocked down by a bus but got and ran away because she was embarrassed and only checked for injuries in private.

One of my big fears is having a heart attack or stroke in public. I'd hate people staring and pointing, and nasty lower class youths laughing.

Your family wouldn't laugh would they? ;)

Hi Afinkawan. If I saw someone fall a distance e.g. from a scaffolding, or out cold, the last thing I'd do is move them.

I have ME and have 'collapsed' in a similar way to Mat yesterday, many times in the past. In my case I just need someone to bundle me into a taxi to get me home asap! This was v similar as though his body had said "Right that's enough, you need a rest" and he slid a short distance to the floor from the sofa. You could see he was breathing and able to talk.

I know it shouldn't be but I think most people feel embarrassed when something like that happens in public. I felt for him in that respect. (And I didn't leave as they'd told us to stay at that point!)

That was quite funny for you, Dolly. If you weren't in your late seventies I'd say you still had a shot at becoming a succesful comedy writer. ;)

I just pissed myself.

Not because you're funny, but because I'm incontinent.

Thankyou and goodbye. Wave

Reminds me of that kid who died playing rugby a couple of weekends ago. Broke his neck being tackled, got up, and the weight of his head unsupported snapped his spine.
