TV OR NOT TV A New UN PC Sketch show - Have a look Page 2

He would produce and direct?

I've never heard of someone getting a commission like that. I can understand it being used as a show reel/ calling card to get employment, but who would buy an idea from a producer/director - a TV company perhaps?

I would have thought a prodco would obviously want to produce themselves and is it likely a new director would be hired?

Would Guy's role be as the creator?

Hopefully Guy will reply.... :)

He's also one of the show's writers.

Good stuff Guy :)

Hi All thanks for feedback keep it coming!!

Right first up this show does have some points which pull it out of the Kevin Bishop arena i.e. sketches don't have to be about or featuring TV shows they can occur in the home or out and about. We just use the TV / computers / airwaves as means to go between skits. More sketches going to YouTube shortly that show the home skits.

For all the great writing in the world you still need great production and direction ethics to get the script shot and made well. Otherwise good scripts can horribly wrong when shot poorly.

My responsibility has been from picking and editing scripts to casting, writing, crewing and producing and directing not to mention Budgeting!!! So This show is a good calling card for me. It also exhibits some of the ethics I feel are missing from good comedy TV at the mo. However, I and the team I've put together can go a lot further than this limited budget show and I fully intend to make this happen even if it's not through this specific show.

New writing and performers must be given a chance and I intend to champion this.

Cheers again,

Guy ;-)

So I take it you want to be a producer Guy?

Nope I'm more of a director but I have very strong production ethics, so I'd have to work very closely with any Producer. However I have been a pproached to Produce but it's not my first love.

There is no straight way with commmissions they come in many different ways.

Also production companies don't necessarily buy formats and then fire the assets they very often bring the Producers on board and co produce. Owning a production company I look mainly to co-produce at the moment with economy + the way it is.

Ah, I can understand you having your own production company. Sorry, I was confused because one of my best friends is a TV producer and director and he works in a different way.

The show looks v. good, btw! :)

Do you like to work very closely with the actresses too?

What are you doing at the BBC Guy?

As an Actor and Director I have had to work closely with actresses and actors alike.

As for the BBC Marc tell me what I do?

Well Ok I'm working in Comedy Entertainment development at the BBC currently! ;-)

The actor part of me really likes to make them feel comfortable in performance because then they can really do wonders! In live girls 1 the ladies pretty much directed themselves at 1 point!!

Well they certainly look the part. The sketches I mean!

:)

Yep they do! :-)

I bet they did. But then you had to come in and direct them, didn't you? Direct them good and hard. Yeah. Cool

Yeah and I've bet they've read this thread and now and have decided not to work with the creepy bloke again. :)

Thanks!! No I was blushing and totally taken aback with Breast caress! I mean I couldn't of asked for that.. could I...? LOL!

:D

I enjoyed these two, I wasn't keen on the Live Babe ones. Love the Paul and Phil 'The Nonce' at the end of the first one and the "Who the f**k are you looking at?" line. Brilliant, and looked great too. Good job.
