How do I remove red eye from a digital photo?

I have really bad red eye in a photo of me taken last week. Need to get it taken out, how do I do this?

I don't think I have any programs on my computer that does it.

Cheers.

Your computer (probably) should have Windows Photo Gallery (and/or Microsoft Office Picture Manager) which can fix red eye. Is the photo stored in 'My Pictures' or some other folder? If so, view it as a thumbnail, right click it and see what programs you can open it with. If you have Windows Photo Gallery, select that, then select 'fix' and 'fix red eye'.

You can either search Google for 'red eye removal' and find a free program to do it, or you could download the GIMP (free photoshop type program) which has red-eye removal. Or just open it in paint and colour over the red bits yourself.

Red eye in pics is funny. Especially pics of your friends children. Brings a little bit of joy to recall scenes from Children of the corn and the Omen when they are going through the wad of new baby pics.

I don't have anything like Photo Gallery unfortunately. Google it is.

Did you right-click the thumbnail of the pic? What are the options under 'open with >'?

Microsoft Office Pic Manager seems to do the trick. Thanks for your help. For some reason this program didn't show it's face the first time I clicked Open With.

Thanks again.

Most of my photos have red eyes. Whistling nnocently

Brilliant, Sir. Laughing out loud

I would advise Mike but fear his follow-up question will be about whether red-eye caused the breakdown of his relationship to the girl next to him in the piccy.

I remember removing the red eye effect from a picture of Aaron once. It was quite fun.

I'm suggesting scissors.

The other option is to use some of these.

Wow, computers these days are something else...
