Harry And Paul demonstrates that a sketch show can be turned around with better writing. I'm pleased to hear that the BBC haven't just jumped straight into a second series as was originally reported though.

I agree with this. Horne and Corden should not get a second series unless they get better writers on board. Perhaps even take writing duties away from Mat and James. It makes you realise how much Ruth Jones had to do with all the good stuff in Gavin and Stacey.

I've said it before on this thread, but I don't understand that point of view. Contributing apparently poor material to a sketch show, does not mean Corden did not have a hand in providing quality material for a sitcom.

Didn't someone say The Dawson Brothers were involved with this?

Yes. I told you! Their names were in the writers credits on episode 1.

Yeah, I knew some chump had said something.

The horrible thing to learn is that Horne and Corden would only sign a 2 series deal on this show so there's more to come! On the up side Psychoville is coming and It's BRILLIANT 4th JUNE!!!!!!! It won't disappoint any League fan and is of way better stock than the film!! Boys your BACK!!!!!!

Horrible? TO LEARN??

The science of it all?

No green glasses here then.

:)

A man pushes another man into something and says 'It was me!'

How is that funny to anyone anywhere in the world? Do Horne and Corden even know what comedy is?

Crouchy did the "pull out the rope" celebration tonight. As featured on the James Corden Comic Relief sketch!

Good to see their live show getting equally great reviews:

Good grief. Wasn't Corden quoted recently as saying they don't want to annoy people and they'll probably go away after one series? Wish they would...

If the BBC really want these two to be the new Ant n' Dec they need to seriously rein them in - it's getting ridiculous now. I can see a Little Britain style stage tour soon. :(

Didn't think this week's was as bad as the last couple. Faint praise, I know. A real problem with the show is the amount of 'influences' from other, better programmes, be it Fast Show, The Office. Maybe if they can get past that and the fat jokes, and get a decent writing team, then a second series might work.

Or am I being too kind?!

OK, so remove the fat jokes, the Fast Show and The Office 'influences', change the writing team and you have... well, you have a new show, so that's probably a good idea.

Needs two new stars to front it as well though, then they'd be onto a winner.

Why don't they build a device that wipes out our memories and then they can just do sketches from the Fast Show?

Then and only then are they onto a winner.

Oofe, talk about kick them when they're down! That's a scathing review.

I absolutely love Gavin and Stacey, and I think Mat Horne and James Corden are both very likeable people but this sketch show is, at large, painfully unfunny in my opinion. I was really hoping it would be good too.

I really like Gavin and Stacey and I really liked James Corden's rant to the England Football team, but I watched an episode of this last night and I thought it was absolutely abysmal.
