Great last episodes? Page 4

I think I said this before, but I still think the last episode of Blackadder was good (Excluding the specials)

An odd one, but the last episode of 'Hi-De-Hi' was actually quite affecting.

An odd one....

How so?

Only because this show is probably not most people's cup of tea. It was superbly written and cast. And some of the episodes involved some real poignancy. (It's one of my only gripes about Gervais/Merchant that in 'Extras' they make a joke out of Paul Shane having pulled out of 'When The Whistle Blows' because he "thought it was too broad". 'Hi De Hi' was not a broad show IMO. And Simon Cadell's performance was one of the most subtle in sitcom history. Saying that the cast was pretty much without exception, great.)

But it was mainstream, which seems to be everything they hate. Sigh.

Yeah, but I say forget mainstream. Stuff is either funny or it isn't.

Hi De Hi had just simply wonderful characters played to perfection by great actors. Mainstream? What about the grumpy, drunken old sod of a children's entertainer? Most would probably consider that an alternative comedy character, wouldn't they?

Unfoertunately, it seems that RG has a 'holier than thou' opinion of sitcoms- being unable to accept that some are just funny; full stop. For someone in the business of comedy he doesnt half take it seriously.

It was great. And the going over the top, so sad. Then the specials went and ruined it *shakes fist*

The Office christmas specials were really good too.

I loved the last episode of Drop the dead donkey. Can't tell you how many Gus type people i've met over the years. Not managers necessarily, just people who just don't realise that their beloved company actually sees them as nothing but puppets.

Also whilst typing the above i spelt managers without the second 'a' and have decided that a manger will be the new yoof speak for a crap/crap looking manager and a Mangan for an overrated comedy actor.

Same fave last episodes:

Adder goes Forth
Partridge
Black Books
Arrested Development

Didn't like the Seinfeld finale, though it was an awful episode. Easily the weakest along with the pilot episode and one or two from the first couple of seasons. Phenominally great show mostly, of course.

It was terrible wasn't it!

Loved the rest of it though.

I liked the last Seinfeld episode. I thought they rounded it off nicely.

I think one of the best endings was Dad's Army, where they toasted, "To Britain's Home Guard".

I agree. They slip out of character for a moment. It's very sad too as they all looked terribly tired and frail, adding a little more poignancy.

Another favourite final episode of mine was the The Office Christmas party.

Am I thinking of the right one?
They went off in a car, and got arrested or something?
