I am being considered for Big Brother

I have got very far. Im scared this fame will destroy any respect for any other talent I have after. Could I go on big brother and escape the presenters in nexter years saying 'Candy, stand up comedian, ex big brother housemate is shopping in sommerfield'

Who here would consider going on the show and who wouldnt?

Don't do it.

Sorry, Candy, but you should have thought of that already.

First let me ask - what made you audition in the first place? Is it only just now that you're having these doubts, or did you consider them when applying?

Depends on how much of a gamble you're willing to take with your life. You might be liked, in which case you might get a job presenting a late night quiz show, or you might be hated, in which case your life is pretty-much f**ked for a long time.

I have a friend who got the final stages a couple of years ago and pulled out at the last minute. She doesn't regret it.

I'd think long and hard if I were you. Loooong and hard.

I can't understand why anybody'd do it, to be honest. Maybe the first series, when it was an 'interesting experiment'. But ten (11? 12?) serieses in? Really?

I've often thought while watching BB (as I'm sure we all have) "What would I be like on that?", and I came to the conclusion that I'd be somewhere in the middle between love and hate. The sense of humour would split people I think. At least 80% of the housemates are dregs anyway. Plus, I don't like being 'on show' in front of loads of people - I'd shit my pants before I even reached the front steps. For stand-ups, though, I imagine that would be OK (being in front of people, not pant-shitting)

Eh? ?

I doesn't matter much if you do go on BB, since hardly anyone will be watching.

Go for it you won't get a chnace to get in the public eye so quick again but I'd say.

1 They will edit you into what ever form they like.
2 No one can keep up a front for long, walk in the first week or 2.
3 Write pages of good jokes, routine etc that isn't libellous. Memorise it.
4 Don't drink to much if at all.
5 Be good natured about everything never complain.
6 If you find yourself shouting, make your self cry imediately.

When you get kicked out slap Davina hard. Don't apologise or explain.

I think most people wonder how they'd cope and/or be seen as it is interesting to think how you'd react in an extreme situation. But it's a long and very scary step from that to actually going on it.

As far as I can see BB is essentially televised bullying. Either the contestants bully each other or BB crew bully them. And the tabloids on the outside play their part. And of course, you have no editorial control so they will potray you as you see fit. I'm guessing as a stand-up they'd love you to come across as unfunny and humourless (just a guess obviously).

This may be grist to the mill for your stand up act, but the price is likely to be fairly high. Although I do like Sootyj's idea.

I often wandered about going into the house. But I think I may be to malevolent.

Candy Sandy Armstrong is Henry Thurston's new identity. A "drag act" character, apparently. We like to call them trolls. Accordingly, both users have been banned.

Thanks everyone for your considered responses to this quite bizarre question.

(If people have got 'very far' they're not allowed to even tell their mum, let alone strangers on a forum, as they would get dumped by BB immediately.) :)

Still don't do it!

:D

Pretending to be a contestant on Big Brother? Did someone just invent a new low?
