Wasn't expecting as bad as that. I'd been a labourer before then, but this was the worst. Don't know if it was bad as the one guy parking outside the local high school. He was not fun.
I spent a summer holiday in a old lottery ticket booth taking parking tickets for Waitrose. There was no charge in the car park so the exercise was pointless in the extreme. They only stopped doing it when a car hit the booth a knocked me over.

They could of been except they didn't stop. I think it was a middle aged women in a rush for the school run but I couldn't get out to see as the booth had landed on its door.
I did get a cup of tea and to go home early though. :-)

Also worked in the local Spar. Being threatened by malignant dwarves when I wouldn't sell them booze and fags was kind of funny. Turns out they were like this coz the boss did sell them. Went into the back room one day, he was reading a letter from Trading Standards, which he then threw in the bin. His franchise went tits up not long after.
Everywhere is challenge 21 and challenge 25 now!
My old boss was a knob, though.
My boss at Costa was a nasty bully. She made my life hell and I thought it was all in my head cause why would she do it if she had hired me? Then the truth came out one day from someone else who was leaving. She didn't, the company did because she had been only hiring family and family friends and it was against policy and she been forced to hire me over her nephew as I was the only other appilcant. The next day when she tried it, I tore her a new bumhole verbally and walked out leaving her to start the morning on her own totally. Karma also bit her and her coven of witches later but that is another story.
The thing you have to remember about bad bosses is they ALWAYS trip up eventually and when they do, they fall HARD.
It wasn't just the people though, I found the companies policies and the health and safety shocking.
I like the bit where the place got flooded with shit.
That was the same place! Oh that was funny!
I've never had it, but I always feel sorry for those poor bastards who have to stand in the entrance of Next greeting people. As far as I'm aware, no other shop tortures its staff in this way. It also puts me off ever going into Next.
