The Latecomers Thread

This thread has been inspired by the fact that my flat-mate has only just got into The Sopranos, some ten years after it first aired!

For my part, up until a few years ago, I hadn't seen a single episode of Seinfeld, and only got into it via the DVDs after I'd run out of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Also, BBC2 are due soon to air The Wire, some seven years after it started.

So, come on and 'fess up - what did you get into a long time after everybody else did! (TV, music, whatever).

It was The Office for me.

I only caught it from the second series but in my defence I was out regularly on the original broadcast night so simply missed it first time.

Firefly.

Last of the Summer Wine.

Watched my first and only epiode last year.

Star Trek Enterprise. I missed the first series and vowed to never watch it until I could from the start. Just got seasons 1 + 2. Oh yeasss

The new version of Battlestar Galactica. It's only now it's about to end that I've started to watch the first series.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, kept missing it before - love it now!

Ummmm. Harry Potter books?

I resisted getting involved for yeeeeears. And then read them all at once one summer.

Woah.

Umm. Every respected comedy in the past decade and a bit. Father Ted, Red Dwarf, Spaced, Peep Show, The Office, I'm Alan Partridge, Red Dwarf, etc.

I'm always late on everything I end up liking. I never get in at the ground-level.

Star Trek Enterprise.

I still haven't seen a single episode of any of the Star Trek shows other than the 1960s original. I think I've missed the last 3 or 4 movies, too. Maybe I should try to catch up. The same goes for the new Battlestar Galactica.

Next Generation and Deep Space Nine are fantastic shows! Although I only got into DS9 from about the fourth season, I think. The new Galactica's really good as well, although I've only seen the first couple of seasons. Think I'll wait till it's finished and they're all out on DVD.

Ditto. Although, I did watch Seinfeld sometimes but I was about 9 years old and just liked Kramer's hair.

Didn't the BBC used to show Seinfeld at some ridiculous time, like midnight or something?

Yes, next to Larry Sanders.
