Misconceptions
At secondary school I must have been asked about 20 times if I'm Jewish. No idea why. Maybe it's because I'm called Daniel. And have a slightly large nose.
And wear a skullcap.
I'm often asked what country I'm from and people are surprised I'm British. Even after I've been talking to them.
A lot of people assume I'm from Manchester; seems to be southerners default setting for 'where northerners come from'.

Sometimes I might sound a bit of an odd London/west country/Scottish mix which might be confusing.
Usually I'm asked if I'm German or Swedish or Dutch or Norwegian and more recently Russian.
I'm often assumed to be gay for the way I cross my legs. And sometimes have sex with men.
Sometimes people assume I'm sexist.
