Actually had to go on IMDB to make sure I didn't just imagine it.

Ahhhh, "Morris Minor's Marvellous Motors."
Never heard of it.
Was it good?
I have a recollection of the title, so must have watched it (on repeats). I expect I'd recognise it if I actually saw it again.
If you can remember 'Stutter Rap' by Morris Minor and the Majors, then you are indeed sad...like me.
Pretty much best forgotten. I vaguely remember Hugh Laurie appearing in one episode.
Tony Hawk's travel writing is pretty good though.
Read 'Travelling around France with a dyslexic Albanian taxi driver's gimp' for example...
Oh I remember it....
Yeah, I remember the song. It came out after the Beastie Boys first hit these shores, in '87 - which is why they were like a spoof version of the group. Wasn't Andy Serkis in the group?

Remember it? I have a signed copy.
Yes, I remember -- and I can't think of it without also recalling 'Roy's Raiders', another one-series-only, early Saturday evening sitcom.
It was actually Maurice Minor who made me think of it.
Tony Hawks' books are very good. He's been the literacy equivelent of "typecast" with his memior "Round Ireland With a Fridge", but "One Hit Wonderland" is much better. In it, Tony has two years to score a hit anywhere in the world - he can sing it or write it. Not giving anything away for those who haven't read it, but Norman Wisdom is involved!
Here's my review of it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/0091882109/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_helpful?ie=UTF8&coliid=&showViewpoints=1&colid=&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

Written by one John Deacon of Queen, I believe, the man who also gave us 'There's No Turning Back' by The Immortals featuring Peter Cushing, the theme from John Hough's BIGGLES.

Surely not.
John Deacon appeared in the video. I think it was written by Joey Deacon, in a rare moment of clarity.
