ITV - What's the point?

ITV generally broadcasts soporific pap for the masses, and its getting worse. But should we care? What do they make that's actually any good? What did they ever make that was ever any good?

Sometimes I'll catch Coronation St, occasionally the news after the BBC, but what else is there to watch if Piers Morgan, Jordan and Ant & Dec make your skin crawl?

As far as I could ever see, their comedy output has always been quite poor. Bless This House was ok, On The Buses had its moments, but there's not much else any good. And they ruined Morecambe and Wise. It took the BBC to pick up Men Behaving Badly and give it a chance too. And what sketch show has been a success from ITV (and by 'success' I mean 'funny')...?

Don't forget Rising Damp.

TV Burp's good. And Moving Wallpaper.

TV Burp is good.

Moving Wallpaper and FM are very good, but there is no *way* on earth MW will get a third series after the ratings this season. I do like Primevil but have suspicions it's more to do with having a crush on Hannah Spearrit than any great scriptwriting.

That sort of stuff has actually brought it *up* recently! It was ever more dire than that previously. The problem is I can't stand soap or tacky reality stuff, which appears to be what the masses love (idiots...)

I personally wouldn't miss it, if they do go bust but suppose I am biting off my nose to spite my face if I ever want somebody to make some comedy of mine...

TV Burp is ok but borders on the moronic at times..

Rising Damp was good, but went on too long.

TV Burp - that's it. Possibly I'm A Celebrity..., but mostly to watch the chemistry between Ant & Dec (who are great, by the way).

I used to watch X Factor, but that's gone to absolute shite now. And don't even get me started on Britain's Got Talent.

Sometimes, when I watch T.V. Burp, I can't help wondering whether Harry Hill regrets giving up being a Doctor. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a very funny bloke, but I wish he'd try and write a sitcom, or a sketch show instead.

a sketch show instead.

He did have that Channel 4 sketch show for several series.

And Harry Hill's Fruit Fancies on BBC2.

And a sitcom coming up - 'Soapington Way'. Unless that's not happening.

And it was fantastic - can't find it on DVD though

That wasn't really a typical sketch show, was it? I thought it was just him f**king around with Stufer the cat, Finsbury Park, and his Badgers.

Oh, and his sketch show for kids, Shark Infested Custard.

And his stand up bits too.

"Ohh, Goliath he's so BIG and David he's so SMALL he's never going to . . . Oh, he's done it, look - I knew he would!"
