I was just thinking about how some really good sketch shows often disappear, after just one or two series', and was wondering, which sketch shows, from 1990 onwards, ran for the longest time? The Fast Show is the obvious one, but are there any others that got 3 or more series'?

The Sketch Show with Tim Vine and Lee Mack had a few series.
If you include the radio version then, Dead Ringers, has to be one of the longest running.
What about Smack the Pony?

'(Alas) Smith & Jones' had ten series, but that ran from the early 80s to the late 90s.
I would say these days 3 series for a sketch show is pretty strong going. In the past they seemed to be able to run for much longer.

A Bit of Fry & Laurie ran for four series and a pilot between 1987 and 1995.

Yes.
Hale & Pace ran for 10 series between 1988 and 1998.
(Just scraping in, IMO.)

Ironically, I always thought their sketches were the weakest bits. The best bits of any of their shows have always been the live interaction with the audience, which is why their crowning moment in my eyes will always be Vic Reeves Big Night Out.

Wasn't that only 2 series? Longer if you include the radio series, obviously.
But in that case you can add in On The Hour/The Day Today, Goodness Gracious Me, The Goon Show, Mitchell and Webb and several others.
