Writing Workshop at Beeb Page 2

I don't think *building* the workshop counts, so both of you are out.

Dan

I'm on the RFTP one on Monday. Would be good to meet up beforehand if anyone is interested.

I was told the RFTP workshop is separate from the 7 on 7 one, even though advertised as being on the same day.

None of us 7on7ers know if we're invited on Monday yet.
Well, one person (Indigo) on the 7 On 7 thread reckons he's invited, but not sure if it's genuine.

I once watched a programme on the BBC. Does that count. It was Eastenders. It didn't last all day, it just felt like it.

Yacob, The Producer

I'm also in for the RFTP workshop on Monday (and naturally I have assumed that failure to get the 7 on 7 invite is only, ONLY, because they already had me down for an event on Monday and not because my sketches were pants).

PM me, but we could just do the usual place half an hour beforehand?

Am I the only one on here going to the 13 April RFTP workshop...??

Yep. That's the one with the really camp bloke, and he's going to get you to do lots of stretches...

;)

Oh yeah, the one that drops things and asks you to pick them up.

And no-one else is invited. Just you.

Apart from the film crew. I've bagged a place as the fluffer. :)

Hi - I have a return national express coach to from Bristol to London for this monday - leaves 5am - leaves london 6.30pm. Bought on a wave of foolish hubris to cover costs incase I got a thumbs up from 7-7 - I know, I know, don't say it!! Anyway, I'm located in southville, bristol, so if you're local and got lucky for the 7-7 gig and want a freebie, it's yours. I'm a bit new here, so not sure what the policy is about giving phone numbers or emails - prob best to pop something in my inbox - ross

Sorry I'm gonna have to say it...you bought a coach ticket BEFORE you knew you'd been selected? Now that's confidence! :D

Seriously though, aren't the BBC paying travelling expenses any more? They should be if they're inviting you, surely. I've got a beeb meeting on the 20th and they stumped up for my train ticket.

Actually I had a meeting at bbc glasgow last year and they weren't going to pay for the trip at first but then I pleaded poverty and they took pity on me. Heh heh. Suckers! But seriously though, it's never a bad idea to ask. They can only say no. Regardless of how much the BBC are "skint", they're still a damn sight less skint than the rest of us.

It was a tricky one to call - £80 ticket on the day or £12 coach pre-booked. What is a bit odd is that the beeb are desperately trying to lose their 'london-centric' look - but traveling from the North (or in my case the south west) is a hardship, considering that most of us are so poor church mice are sending us food coupons - I'd be interested to know if the Beeb are punting up for fares?

I'm a no, due to a lack of communication beyond the letter of receipt.

Anybody go to either workshop yesterday? Any detasils on what it was like, etc?
