I like him beefy.

That's not you on the front of the latest one with him?

The new LP is better than I thought actually.

Though I don't think Mozzer has been lyrically all that good for a while. Quarry had a few nice lyrics, as did Ringleader, but a lot of the tracks weren't that clever or incisive.

I'm at least a foot taller than that baby.

I wish he wouldn't put pictures of himself on the covers of albums now, though. Fat Morrisey doesn't sit well.

He's lost a lot of weight I think, if that nude band photo is anything to go by.

Who is that good lyrically? Really? Not many artists are that clever or incisive. Most write dribble that doesn't stand up to close scrutiny away from the music.

The Smiths were unbelievably good. The Queen Is Dead is probably my second favourite album of all time. If there were no Smiths there wouldn't be Oasis (and probably countless other bands), their influence was so great.

If we were on Facebook, I would majorly "like this". :P The Smiths are amazing.

Almost makes me wish the Smiths never existed :P

Always thought Oasis were more a Stone Roses influenced band. Can't hear The Smiths in Oasis. Still, as long as I can't hear bloody Oasis in The Smiths, that's fine. I always preferred Blur!

Who else thinks the production on Meat is Murder is a murky mess? If only Stephen Street had produced it...

It's certainly better than the production on their first album though, I think. That has an odd sound to it; certainly my least favourite of their albums.

Definitely my least favourite Smiths album

Funnily enough I downloaded the Troy Tate version of their debut today. Not the greatest quality, but sounds a lot clearer than the official release. I only really like the last two albums myself. Oh and Hatful of Hollow. And the singles collection. I'm yet to get Louder Than Bombs, but that's next on my list.

Louder than bombs is like Hatful Of Hollow; a collection of non-album singles, actual singles, rarities, etc; only over all not as good as hatful. I'd agree that I certainly like the'r last two albums more than their first two. It's amazing how many well known songs they had that actually didn't appear on a proper album.

Haha, they didn't really influence Oasis' music but it certainly inspired Noel Gallagher to start playing. He's done a great version of There Is A Light on acoustic before. Recently he said he was a bit embarrassed being good mates with Johnny Marr and Paul Weller - because they're such amazing guitarists whereas Noel is pretty average.

Noel Gallagher talking about Morrissey and The Smiths, he really sings their praises: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1MsuoNJQ3U

I agree with what people have said about Meat Is Murder, I like it but it's nowhere near their best.

I'm listening to I Know It's Over now, why is it their best songs are always the ones that are the most depressing?!
