On Suicide, Breakdowns and Depression Page 2

N.B. I'm supporting a couple of guys with bankruptcies at the moment and there is a fun side to it. The bank for all it's rudeness and bullying is going to make a big loss on any bankruptcy. So how ever unpleasant it is for you you can enjoy watching the arseholes make a loss and look like morons. It actually makes the nasty letters quite sweet. Also bankrupts get discharged in I believe 1-2 years and then those problems are well behind you. Or if you're earning well enough you can appply for a range of payback options at your local citizen's advice bureau (IVA or lower payements or micro payments) Most of which will eventually clear your debts and retain your assets (and your bank will accept as they're desperate to get anything back.

Of course I don't know what your financial problems are and suicidal feelings are always an indicator that you need some extra support.

Don't forget, Tim. If you 'top' yourself -
THEY win!!

I've had a few times in my life where I just had the feeling that I didn't really want to be alive anymore. I would never do anything about it though, when I go God/fate/death will have to drag me away kicking and screaming. Suicide gets rid of all the bad things, but also the good things, and the chance that the things you want out of life will ever come along.

Plan A is to get help, talk to the samaritans, or a friend or family member, see your doctor etc.

I've texted you Tim.

I've always felt that I don't care about myself enough to be bothered to commit suicide, no matter how low I get.

I have had suicidal thoughts in the past but never seriously considered acting on them. I sometimes think our problem is that we all expect too much from life. Life is essentially pointless and meaningless, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Once you accept that, you can kind of kick back and relax a bit. Success and failure, as Kipling famously said, are both imposters, and neither has any real power over you unless you let it. Do not dwell on the past and do not anticipate the future, happiness exists only in the fleeting moment. Which translated into practical terms means, do something that you enjoy which is going to absorb you and takes your mind of your problems.

A blind date actually sounds like just the thing. Finding out about someone else's life is always fascinating, and it is also a chance to see yourself through another set of eyes.

Best of luck.

BSG's other Tim.

Get better Tim, nothing's really worth doing that to yourself.

I would never consider killing myself, I would probably be the flipside of Aaron's point of view; I care too much about myself! Go me!

Please, PLEASE call someone and ask for help. You'll be glad you did and so will anyone who knows you - even a stranger from the Internet.

Or speak to friends and relatives. I always find hanging with my niece and nephew helps cheer me up.

Hope you feel better soon Tim. For purely selfish reasons please don't do anything silly, I find you quite amusing.

Tim, you're OK. Most people are really.

Tim, if you're the lowest you've ever been now, then try to keep reminding yourself that things HAVE to get better. And they will do. I have a friend who 5 years ago, when she was just 15, was addicted to cocaine and tried several times to kill herself. Now she's very happily married and enjoying life. Things will get better. They have to. For most of my teenage years I hated waking up in the morning, knowing I'd have another day of my inane and seemingly worthless existance before I could go to sleep and escape it for just a few hours. But things always get better. Hope you're alright.

Also, it's hard to top yourself whilst you're waiting to hear on you're sitcom pilot's commissioning status.

Stick in there Tim - if you end it all who else is going to beat Harry Hill as most successful comedic alumni of St George's Hospital Tooting?

You could have phrased that a bit better. Errr

The best sign is that you came on here to talk about it, which the amateur psychologist in me tells me means you really don't want to kill yourself just a bit more than you do. Keep talking to people. People are good, even tossers.

Was he born there? That was where I was born.
