Taxi Driver.

Oh, I've seen that loads of times. But didn't recognise it.

Scorcese says it in the back of the cab; he's playing a nervy bloke spying, I think, on his cheating wife.

Ohhh, right. Remember the scene but definitely don't remember the line!
Maybe he mumbles. :)

I have a friend who becomes a raving lunatic when he's drunk. Sometimes he has Vietnam flashbacks, but most of the time he just runs his mouth in the most inappropriate manner possible. I always left the bar when he'd go up to some guy twice his size and say something like "Do you mind if I f**k your wife? I'll let you watch, if you're into that kind of thing."

This guy even managed to get arrested for riding a bicycle while intoxicated. He mouthed off so badly to the L.A.P.D. officer that he arrived at the Los Angeles jail with a fractured leg. The arresting officer even told the reception clerk at the jail to "lose this guy for a few days."

Now that he's sober he'll readily admit that he deserved every bit of it.

Sounds like he needs therapy, not a fractured leg. :(

Sometimes a fractured leg, a few nights in jail and a broken marriage are the only kinds of therapy that work. The last I heard he was sober and back with his wife.

Sounds like a complete twat to me. I have an "aquaintance" who gets mouthy when drunk. I'm waiting for the day that somebody smacks him one. I certainly won't be stepping in to help him out, that's for sure. He richly deserves a slap.

He's the nicest guy you'll ever meet. But get him drunk and he'll embarrass you, annoy you and sometimes threaten to kill you. Booze was his only problem, it brought out his demons. He was a medic in Vietnam and his wife and child were killed in an automobile accident while he was over there.

One time while he was still drinking he tagged along with us after a mutual friend's wedding in Las Vegas. Everyone steeled themselves for an unpleasant evening, but he drank responsibly and was a gentleman all night. We were all astounded because it was so out of character.

It totally made me think of Tarantino too!

What is the line from?

Totally understandable. In fact, much like the police looking at Stephen Lawrence's murder as possibly related to gangs and drugs, I'm sure it saves a lot of time to assume that that kind of quote, regarding guns, violence, sexual assault, etc, would be something from Tarrantino.

Isn't that line from Taxi Driver? The bit were that bloke gets him to watch his with cheat on him, or something?

Ignore me >_<

that bloke

Scorcese himself no less!

No, that is NOT "beating the shit out of" someone. That is the proper use of a police baton to in order to make a detainee comply with officers' orders. A few jabs to the ribs and hopefully the detainee will comply and the struggle is over.

The camera's view is obscured, but my guess is that he was either struggling against them or had his hands hidden underneath his body and the cops were worried about the possibility of a weapon. The actions of the fans (drunk?) show that the cops were correct in using heightened security measures against the idiot who disrupted the match. Looks like a melee waiting to happen.

Yes.

The way the audience behaved it completely out of order and they all deserved to be put in jail. Those poor policeman beaten to hell. 4 cops on one stupid man or 100s of drunken hooligans on 4 cops!!!

Yes.

The older I get the more in favour of hard line law and order I become. IMO, if some tosspot gets hurt he was probably doing something to deserve it.

Yes. I believe that Mayor Giuliano introduced a hard line approach to the streets of New York and it worked wonders.

I think it's Portugal Dolly - shown on German TV. Benfica vs someone else

And they say Britain has the worst behaved fans!

We've certainly got the worst looking fans.

My friend just sent this to me and I was just wondering what Dabutt's (and everyone else's) take on this video is.

As you'll see the 15 year old girl in the cell slips her foot out of her sneaker and kicks it in the arresting cop's direction. What follows is shocking to me...but is it acceptable in the eyes of the law I wonder? http://www.flurl.com/video/34709919_cops_beat_the_crap_out_of_15yo_girl.htm

Holy shit. Cops with guns, sticks and God knows what else they give the police in the US, vs one little girl with a shoe. And it wasn't even loaded. Anyone know if anything happened to those guys?

F**king hell. She was quite clearly unconscious for a while there, and they were still punching and forcefully restraining her. Stupid behaviour on her part, but worth no more than picking up the shoe and flinging at back at her. Jesus.
