Laughing at fat people; it's not done so much now, is it? It wasn't that long ago that people like Nicholas Soames would be the target of fattist jokes. Who is there now in the public eye, that could be used in a fat gag?
Laughing at fat people
Me. But I'm also six foot six and used to play American Football for Great Britain so I wouldn't!
In answer to the question Chris Moyles gets used a lot. Ken Clarke is pretty large. There is that bird that used to be on Big brother who does stuff on this morning. Christopher Biggins - but hes lost a bit.
Edit - Oh by the way it gets done a lot on the streets of this country. People laughing at Fat people that is. I may be fat, but I'm not deaf and not stupid!

Rik Waller's always fair game I feel.
Oh the poor fat fool hasn't been on the telly in years, leave him alone before he finds a building high enough to jump off.

surely you mean 'strong' enough.
wah...wah...waaaaa
Maybe it's a good thing that there are fewer jokes about fat people?
Prescott, on Have I Got News For You, every week for the last ten years.
And Fern Britton. Heard Jimmy Carr say something recently about her having "a gastric band fitted around one of her stomachs" that had me pissing myself.
And lest we forget when Rik Waller stomped off of celebrity fit club they said his favourite Bond film was 'Diet another day'

Yes, but I'm less interested in whether it's good or bad, and more interested in whether it's true that they are fewer jokes, or indeed fewer fat celebs. We're told that obesity is increasing, so shouldn't there be more of them?
There are fewer jokes about fat people nowadays as its considered non-pc. Obesity is classed as an illness now you see.
From a personal point of view I'm glad, as it doesn't take much imagination to look at a fat person and make a joke about them being fat. Its a bit schoolyardish and comedians should be able to do better.
I may not be in the public eye but I wouldn't have chosen this username unless I found it paricularly funny myself
There's loads of jokes and piss-taking about skinny people too. And tall people and short people and bald people and hairy people.
Gervais is a self-styled 'chubby funster' and James Corden whips his stomach out at every given opportunity. But that's self-hating fattism.
As for skinnies laughing at fatties - not really done in comedy as much, but more insidiously by yer Gok Wans and Trinnyandsusannahs.
*goes off to write fat jokes*

Gok is very pro big ladies with big 'bangers' and is very anti diets and surgery. He was once very fat himself. Tranny and Susannah are a couple of snooty idiots who thing everyone should look at them but Susannah is on the larger size herself.
Maybe it the Afghan hound with glasses who used to do '10 years Younger' you're thinking of? Overall in the press, etc there's a real backlash about thin women whilst only larger ladies are seen as 'real' women. It's not PC to mock the fat and obses but there's no rule about attacking skinnier people.
