Or a hammer.
What's the last pub you were in? Page 7

I should eh?!
I wonder how much they are hmmm
Quote: chipolata @ February 26 2009, 2:09 PM GMTI actually hate pubs.
Quote: Curt @ February 26 2009, 2:11 PM GMTI went to my first trivia night at a bar last night. I had fun until I realized every team around me was cheating with their Blackberries and Iphones.
And the worst was how proud they were at winning. Assholes. Without them we would have came in second or third.
iPhones*
I hate pubs too. At night. They are okay to eat in in the daytime though. If they are nice and clean and don't have an air of vomit and piss about them.
Which is very few really.
Yes.
What I hate about pubs is that you can't really hear yourself or others talk. There's that buzz of other people that means you have to shout and speak directly into people's ears.

That really annoys me too. Especially pubs that play music stupidly loud so you can't hear yourself think. This is a PUB, not a club.

Man...how bad are the pubs in England?!
I've been in very few pubs in Ottawa that I thought were dirty. Most double as a restaurant and are trying to make the top restaurant pub listing. It's pretty competitive in that way.
P.S. looked up cellphone blockers and they're freaking expensive.
Of course, in the olden days, people were too busy smoking to talk. Bloody government!
I love pubs. All sorts. Quaint country pubs, Edwardian city pubs with dodgy blokes, the old alky regular and city types, trendy bars, gastro pubs, family pubs, dirty dives that good bands play, gay bars, smart upmarket pubs, cosy real fire pubs in the winter and pubs with good gardens in the summer... I could go on and on...
Don't you ever drive past a pub in the evening and it looks all cosy and lit up and you just want to go inside for a bit?

What about The Slaughtered Lamb?
I like all pubs too. Particularly ones that have a resident fat cat.

I've been to the pub so I can't recall the reference - American Werewolf?

Let's all go to the pub....

I prefer libraries or bookshops with one!
Then you are less likely to get accosted by beer stinking old men whilst stroking it.
