Is any one of these themes inherent in the works of Lemony Snicket?

A far inferior and more mundane writer than I aspire to be, granted, but he has at least shown that these so called 'boundries' are fictatious.

How do they decide which books go into libraries? I used to know but I've forgotten.

The library I use tends to get books in straight after release, or thereabouts.
