Specialist subject on Mastermind: Hancock

Currently on iPlayer - 2 minutes of Hancock questions on Mastermind

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00htwg5/Mastermind_2008_Episode_18/

Starts around 9:50.

I got 4 but I knew the answer to 5 others but couldn't think quickly enough. The contestant got 7.

How well can you do? :)

I remember on childrens' Mastermind a couple of years ago there was a boy - can't have been any more than about 8 - who had Hancock's Half Hour (primarily the radio shows) as his specialist subject. Blimey. I think he got just one question wrong.

Impressive. That's almost an armful.

Not Will Smith's finest moment but I'll take a look later.

:D

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you?

The jury's still out on that one.

Did she die in vain?

It may have been Cleethorpes.

The trick with Mastermind is making sure you have a very narrow topic, the radio Hancocks on their own would be tricky but to take in his entire life and work, well she was up against it. I've seen people on Mastermind just answering questions on one specific Blackadder series, essentially you can revise everything you need to know in three hours.

Like 'Inoffensive Skits by Sootyj' ;)

It's a bit like choosing a PhD subject.

Has anyone here got a PhD?
In Hancock? :)
There's probably not been that many PhDs concentrating on the area of comedy...

I'm just under a third of the way to having a PhD. Maybe this should be in the 'tenuous link' thread?

Ooooooooooooh.
What are you doing for it?

English and Writing...but when I said a just under a third of the way there I meant as in I'm doing my BA now, then I will do my MA and then PhD. I'm in the process of applying to do my MA in the states...hang on, I have an idea...see new PhD thread.

Oh I seeeee what you mean now.
Well then I am also a third of the way there!
