Great Woody Allen Lines Page 2

Love him so much but why do the DVDs take so long to come out after general release?

Stardust Memories is finally getting its UK DVD release. A lot hated that film as the close of the slapstick period but I loved it.

And Broadway Danny Rose - what a great way to tell a story.

And "Radio Days" was superb.

When the crooks rob the house but while in there they win a radio phone-in and the people who live there get furniture delivered a few days later.

Another woody allen line from Stardust memories

"People tell me I'm narcissistic but I disagree; if I were to identify with a figure from greek mythology it wouldn't be Narcissus, it would be Zeus."

He's got a new book out, Mere Anarchy, has anyone read it?

Here's one from his stand-up...

"Years ago, my mother gave me a bullet...a bullet, and I put it in my breast pocket. Two years after that, I was walking down the street, when a berserk evangelist heaved a Gideon bible out a hotel room window, hitting me in the chest. The bible would have gone through my heart if it wasn't for the bullet."

I can't really remember any specific lines but I do remember going to see Annie Hall with my future wife.

I seemed to be the only one in the whole cinema laughing at times and I should have taken that as a sign!

I just watched that film, but it didn't really do anything for me. Any recommendations for a beginner?

Annie Hall or Manhattan. Or Manhattan Murder Mystery.

Have you seen them?

Ooh, or Bullets over Broadway. He's not in that one. John Cusack is brillllliant.

I recommend Yellowbeard. Nothing to do with Woody Allen, but a brilliant film. :D

You joey.

Lol, I've seen a few, years ago, but can't remember much about them. I'll check out Annie Hall as I've heard so much good about it. Thanks.

Love and death. Try that. The film that is.

His prose are also superb. Read "The whore of MENSA"

The scene in Love and Death where he is having dinner with the Diane Keaton character and Woody muses on wheat, " Sacks of wheat, fields of wheat....a tremendous amount of wheat " Bizarre and wonderful.

Sorry but saying you haven't seen Annie Hall is like saying you haven't heard "The Queen is Dead " album. Please see it and if you haven't..please hear it.

The Queen is Dead?

The Queen is Dead?

By The Smiths..." There is a light that never goes out ", " Some girls are bigger than others ", I envy you for not hearing it so far. You have that wonder ahead. Please listen to it a.s.a.p.

Oh ! Take me back to dear old Blighty,
Put me on the train for London Town,
Take me anywhere,
Drop me anywhere,
Liverpool, Leeds or Birmingham
But I don't care,
I should like to see my ...

I don't bless them
Farewell to this land's cheerless marshes
Hemmed in like a boar between arches
Her very Lowness with a head in a sling
I'm truly sorry - but it sounds like a wonderful thing

I said Charles, don't you ever crave
To appear on the front of the Daily Mail
Dressed in your Mother's bridal veil ?
Oh ...
And so, I checked all the registered historical facts
And I was shocked into shame to discover
How I'm the 18th pale descendant
Of some old queen or other

Oh, has the world changed, or have I changed ?
Oh has the world changed, or have I changed ?

Some 9-year old tough who peddles drugs
I swear to God
I swear : I never even knew what drugs were
Oh ...
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
And talk about precious things
But when you're tied to your Mother's apron
No-one talks about castration
Oh ...

We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
And talk about precious things
Like love and law and poverty
Oh, these are the things that kill me

We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
And talk about precious things
But the rain that flattens my hair ...
Oh, these are the things that kill me

All their lies about make-up and long hair, are still there

Past the Pub who saps your body
And the church who'll snatch your money
The Queen is dead, boys
And it's so lonely on a limb
Past the Pub that wrecks your body
And the church - all they want is your money
The Queen is dead, boys
And it's so lonely on a limb

Life is very long, when you're lonely
Life is very long, when you're lonely
Life is very long, when you're lonely
Life is very long, when you're lonely

Wonderful Morrissey lyrics.
