No not at all, I was single (ish) for 3 years after I split up with my second serious boyfriend and had a ball. Travelling and Uni wouldn't have been the same. Now settling down again, and I love being in a relationship. Either way suits and doesn't suit.

Oh that is so sad for one to think that they are missing out with out a mate. I pride myself on being free.

No it does not show an overwhelming selfishness. Having to be in a relationship is far more selfish than being okay without.
